Several improvements were made over the HP95LX. One of the most greatest was a full CGA screen with 640X200 resolution, 80X25 characters. This meant that it was far easier to find MS-DOS sofware that would run and display correctly on the unit. The Serial port was changed to a 10 pin proprietary connector that was closer to a full RS-232. The voltages were lower than a normal RS-232 port, but most devices could be used without issues. There is no connection on pin 10. The other contacts have the same pinout as a standard DB-9 Connector. The PCMICIA Slot was now changed to a PCMCIA (Version 2.0) which allowed use of PCMCIA Modems, PCMCIA to Compact Flash adpters which expanded the storage capacity to 64 MB.
