Weather Situation A high pressure ridge lies across much of the state, extending from a high pressure system in the Tasman Sea. The ridge will persist for the next few days. A weak trough lies across the southeastern interior of Queensland. The trough will weaken today. A deeper trough may move east across western and interior Queensland from Friday, reaching southeastern and central Queensland over the weekend. This trough is likely to drive shower and thunderstorm activity as it moves eastwards. Forecast for the rest of Thursday 17 October Mostly sunny.
