Iran Offers 'Transparency' in Nuclear Talks by VOA News Iran's president says his country has nothing to offer except transparency in nuclear talks with world powers. President Hassan Rouhani's comments aired on state television Sunday, just days ahead of a fresh round of nuclear talks. His critics in Iran claim Rouhani's administration has given up too many concessions to the West. The president said in the television appearance that Iran would never accept "nuclear apartheid" and "scientific segregation" by giving up its contested program. Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, like medical research and power generation. The West says Iran is seeking to build atomic weapons. President Rouhani said Sunday "Iran has never pursued weapons of mass destruction." Iran signed a historic six-month deal in November with six world powers to curb its nuclear activity in exchange for the easing of international sanctions.
