Spain announces first case of cholera since 1979

The Spanish authorities in the Castile-La Mancha region closed
a farm after announcing the first case of cholera in the country

And Spanish media quoted reports from the Ministry of Health
as saying in a statement today: The condition is not serious,
despite the closure of the farm to ensure that there are no risks
to the population.
The statement added: The case belongs to a girl who was injured
after drinking untreated water from a tap on the farm, and she was
transferred to the hospital.
The authorities are trying to find out the source of the water, the
source of the infection, and whether there are other people infected.
