It's been a long time. Sorry to all out there, it's just | |that I've been busy lately. I've also been working on my other | |walkthrough a little bit, so I have some sort of excuse. (Not) :) | |Anyway, I've added some nice ASCII art down in the "best classes for | |each person" section. Also, there's been updates to the FAQ section | |and the tips section, and I think a little bit in the actual | |walkthrough. Anyway, the walkthrough has jumped from it's "measly" 444| |KB to 492 KB. Pretty good, but not all that impressive. I just hope I | |get a little less busy and update a little more frequently. Just be | |patient, and all things will come to pass.....well, until then..... | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |February 15, 2001|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |2.3 I added the "Techs" section, and fixed stuff in the walkthrough. | |Not a very big update, as I've been working on a "surprise" | |walkthrough for a game. I'll tell everyone when it's up. The | |walkthrough is now 444 KB.....at least in .doc format. :) Oh yeah, I | |almost forgot to mention.....Happy 4th of July! :) *fireworks go off* | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |July 4, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |2.2 Almost too much to talk about. Sorry, but my comp crashed, and I | |lost all my files, so I've had to redownload my | |emulator/game/walkthrough, fix some errors, etc. But the big news is | |that I have finished the MAIN WALKTHROUGH SECTION! YES! Now for more | |optional sections. :) The walkthrough is now 415 KB! Oh yeah! I hope | |to update later today/tomorrow. Talk later. Buh-bye. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |June 6, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |2.1 TONS to talk about! First of all, all that's left in the main | |walkthrough is Kevin's/Carlie's area, as I woke up at 2 AM this | |morning and got after Duran's/Angela's/Hawk's/Lise's. I added Kevin's | |and Carlie's beginnings, and tomorrow OR later today, the main | |walkthrough will be finished. Then I can move on to more important | |things in the walkthrough, like a Weapon/Item/Enemy list, etc. Anyway,| |signing off for now! Oh, yeah, almost forgot that the walkthrough is | |now 367 KB! :) Yes! | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 25, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |2.0 Went on to the end scenarios, and got to Tzenker on | |Duran/Angela's. The walkthrough is now 324 KB, and in a week, I'll be | |done with the walkthrough part, and have moved onto other optional | |sections like a Weapon List, etc. I think I might be back later today | |to make an update, but until then, take care.....:) | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 24, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.9 Wow, I did all of Pedan's stuff this morning, and it looks like I | |won't have anything to do in the walkthrough after a couple of days. | |*sniffs* Oh well, what should I care. You're just a bunch of noisy | |slobs sitting at home drinking Pepsi, eating Corn Chips, and trying to| |find a life. :) Anyway, the walkthrough is now 310 KB. Yeah! *everyone| |claps* LoL. Funny, I did this update at the same time I yesterday told| |Al I couldn't do then.....must have been the spaghetti I made last | |night. Hmmmmm. Well, I'm happy, so goodbye for now! Ok, ok, I'm back | |and it's 3:06 PM now.....another update.....Did some more and added | |Lise's scenario. The walkthrough is now 313 KB. Well, bye for the day!| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 23, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.8 Well, I promised Al Amaloo an update at 4 AM this morning, so here| |it is. The walkthrough is now 291 KB, and I've done every Mana beast | |except for Zable-Fahr. The walkthrough is moving steadily along as I | |am updating every day.....see ya' soon! | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 22, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.7 I'm updating quite frequently now. :) The walkthrough is at 282 KB| |now. I've added Hawk's beginning. Thanks to Magus for some info on | |that. Worked some on the walkthrough itself, and fixed a bunch of crap| |in various places.....and that's it for now. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 21, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.6 Well, not much new. The walkthrough is at 274 KB, and Al Amaloo | |put this FAQ on www.gameadvice.com. Got my first FAQ. (Thank you for | |being unknowledgable about this game. LoL) And that's it for now. And | |in the words of Jim Carrey, "In case I don't see ya', good afternoon, | |good evening, and good night." | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 20, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.5 The walkthrough has reached 264 KB in just a few short days. | |Awesome. Not a whole lot new, except CJayC finally put this | |FAQ/Walkthrough on GameFAQs.com. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 19, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.4 The walkthrough is now 173 KB. Fantastic, as I'm only about half | |done, maybe less. In the walkthrough I'm up to the section Mana | |Beasts. Still working on almost everything, and added some nice line | |art of my own. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 16, 2000||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.3 Well, I'm now done making a small/large (depends on how you look | |at it) change to the layout. Ok, Ok, it wasn't that small, it added 23| |KB to the walkthrough! The walkthrough's progressing steadily it | |seems. Might add some new sections soon..... | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 9, 2000|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.2 I finished the new layout awhile ago, and I have been trying to | |get more of the walkthrough done. Working on almost all of the | |sections. Added a new section titled Spell Stats. Look at it to see | |what it's about. I haven't received much in the way of help yet for | |this walkthrough.....besides Magus, of course. And, I know these | |updates seem a month apart, but I update the walkthrough about every | |day, and if I did put up an update for every day I do update the | |walkthrough, well.....:) When I get more contributions, updates will | |be much more frequent. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |May 3, 2000|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.1 Still working on everything, and it's really a pain in the .><. | |I'm working on a new layout right now, so the next update will be | |awhile. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |April 8, 2000|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |1.0 I decided to make this my 2nd walkthrough and stop laying around | |so much, wasting my time playing 10 RPGs at once. This is my second attempt at an FAQ/walkthrough, and I hope it helps you out alot while playing Seiken Densetsu III. It is an Action/RPG game, and it is a lot easier than the first and second Secret of Mana. (Note: The REAL first Secret of Mana is Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, which I'm working on beating right now, although the Secret of Mana released in the USA is 100 times more popular, and few people, from what I know, know that Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest is the first one). If you have ever played Secret of Mana and have/had been waiting for Square to release SOM2 in the US, then received the horrifying news that it wouldn't be released here, you have your chance with an emulator, or a Japanese cartridge. And just so everyone knows.....I hope this'll turn out to be the best FAQ/Walkthrough for Seiken Densetsu III. I don't have much more to say, so let's get going on this walkthrough, and stop reading this boring introduction, so you can beat this game.....^_^..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Tips | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To cast magic, press X to bring up the Item/Magic screen that you can use in battles. Then, press up/down if you are on the Item screen. Your magic spells that you have learnt will come up then. Select the spell, then select the enemy(s), and press A. To use techs, hit the enemy a certain amount of times (4 times for a first level tech, 7 for a second level tech, and 9 times for a third level tech) with your weapon, and the vertical bars at the bottom of the screen near your name will flash green/red/yellow. Get close to an enemy, press B, and your character should do a tech. To change the button configuration on your controller/keyboard if it is uncomfortable to use, press X, right, and down. Press A to start changing it. The way you learn magic is by raising your Agility/Intelligence/Spirit stats, at least from what I know..... When you level up, a screen will come up asking you what stat you want to upgrade, and the different stats can do different things for you: Strength: Your Attack power increases, and when you do a tech, it will have increased in power. Agility: Your Hit Rate and Evade rate increases, making you harder to hit. It also helps you learn spells at times. E.G. Hawk gets his Agility raised to 14-15 on a certain Lv. "Hawk learned the spell "Shuriken"!" Vitality: Your HP increases, and you take less damage from physical attacks. This is a good thing to raise, although not always mandatory..... Intelligence: You avoid enemies' attack magic easier. You also get less damage from them. This is also one of the two things that help you learn magic. E.G. Angela's Intelligence is raised from 6 to 7. Angela learned "Holy Ball"! Spirit: Indirect magic's, such as Heal Light, Leaf Saber, Tinkle Rain, etc. etc. effectiveness increases. If you have sucky defense, this is good to raise if you have a healer in your group. Upgrade this for Carlie/Kevin/Duran for maximum healing/saber power. This also helps Carlie learn spells as a Necromancer.....and I think others too, although I haven't tested it out yet. Luck: You are more likely to give the enemy a "Critical Hit", and there will be fewer Ogre Boxes, Arrows, Spears, etc. in the roulette that sometimes comes up when you open a chest. Hawk always has a lot of this. (He's a thief, needs alot of luck to survive that kind of life style, go figure) Poto Oil and Mama Poto Oil are CRUCIAL to your survival in this game if you don't have a healer. It's the only way my sister survived Dolan, the Moon Mana Beast. :) Use it.....or die.....Mwahahahaha! :) A good idea is to save state before you open most treasure chests so that you can get what you like. This helps when gathering Weapon/Armor/???? seeds. The Item Storage System works like this: Say you get over 9 of an item. Now, the extra will go into storage. To get it out of storage, for whatever reason, press Start, or whatever button you configured it to be, and an item screen will come up. To "fill up" your carrying capacity for a certain item, move the arrow over the item you want to increase the number of, press the A button, move right, scroll down the list, and press A again when you find a match. To switch items, press A on one item on the left side, then scroll down on the right, and press A on the other item you want to replace it. To switch from one character's Item/Spell menu to another, press the L button or the R button to switch between them. Learn this or you will almost positively fail to beat the game! I think..... To switch control between characters (i.e. If you want to control Hawk but are currently controlling Angela) press Select. Hawk's Agility needs to be 13-14 to learn his first spell, Shuriken, when he's a Ninja. This is only here so people will see it faster..... For techs: 1st level-hit the enemy four times 2nd level-hit the enemy seven times and have your first class change 3rd level-hit the enemy nine times and have your second class change from Davama: Hi. I'm David and I have a nifty trick for beating Mispolm. When he sends a head to chomp down on one of your characters, quickly switch to that character and walk around in circles. If you can dodge the head, it will keep trying to attack it, not doing anything else. This allows your other 2 characters to beat Mispolm to the ground with normal attacks! From Chris Chung: Hey, about your walkthrough: I personally find it easier not to use spells on some of the bosses just to avoid their little tech combos. Air Blast does do a lotta damage against golems, but the machine golems in the snowfield will counterattack with a lvl 2 multitargeted spell, and if you multitargeted the golems, you take 3 lvl 2 spells worth of damage. Same with Lugar, I find that he rarely uses his slams/water moon slice/sky dance if you just hit him. Bosses also counterattack to lvl 2-3 techs, so I usually just use a level 1 tech. I think the best way is to experiment and see if they counterattack. An interesting note: I don't think bosses counterattack to Deathspell...the first time I fought the Dark-Shine Knight he killed me with Eruption Sword and Vacuum Sword in under 5 seconds, but I tried again and gave him the beating of a lifetime, he only used Eruption Sword twice, and at separate times. Oh well that's my advice, try spells and techs, if they counter, don't do it! Greetings - I was taking a look at your SD3 faq when I noticed something odd in the intro - you mention that FF:MQ was the first Secret of Mana. I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here, but it's incorrect ;) If you're talking about the original Japanese names, then it was Final Fantasy Adventure for the GameBoy that was the 'first' Secret of Mana. In Japan, Seiken Densetsu (1) was released for the GameBoy, Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3 for the Super Famicom (ie. SNES) and Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana for the Playstation. SD1 was then ported over as FFA, and SD2 became Secret of Mana, making SD1 a sort of Secret of Mana 0, if you will. FF:MQ was done by a totally different development team, and has no connection to the Seiken Densetsu series whatsoever (besides the fact that they are both Squaresoft games). If you haven't played FFA, you'll immediately see the similarities between it and the other three SD games. Anyway, good luck on your faq, and I hope that the above makes sense, as I'm writing this only about half awake ;) Uhhhhh: Well, that might be right, but in FF:MQ there is much mention of Mana and having to save the world from being destroyed.....so, does that amke it SD2? And SD3 would now be SD4? Hmmmmmm.....interesting..... either that or it is a blatant rip-off..... Hey, How are ya doin?! Anyway, just wanted to compliment you on your great walkthrough...I just started playing the ROM version of SD3 not too long ago (I know, I'm late), and let me tell you, your walkthrough was a big help! Especially when I was lost in all those ^%$(^@*&$ mazes! Ok, now that introductions are over, I thought I would share with you, since you didn't seem to notice, that class changes, both first and second, can take place at any of the eight Mana Stones and also at the Goddess in the Mana Holy Land...I just didn't see that pointed out in the walkthrough? (Uhhhhh: WRONG! Second class changes can only happen at the Mana Holyland!) I also noticed that Bill and Ben are weak against Light Magic, i.e. Wisp...Holy Ball and Light Coins work well on them. (More effective than other types of magic.) I am not completely sure about the following data...but I think it should be at least half accurate, so compare it to yours... --> Before first class change: Holy Ball - Int = 8 (I'm 100% sure about this one) Diamond Missile - Int = 8 (Uhhhhh: I think it is 9) Air Blast - Int = 10 Evil Gate - Int = 10 Ice Smash - Int = 10 or 11?? (Uhhhhh: I'll find that out sometime. :) --> Delvar Dark Force - Int = 13 --> Monk Pressure Point - Int = 9 Heal Light - Spr = 9 Ok...that's about it for now. I really strongly advise not trusting this information *too* much...except for the first one. (After your gain Wisp's power, Faerie will comment that you need to raise your intelligence in order to use Wisp's magic. At Int = 8 you learn Holy Ball, I'm sure of that!) As for the others...too hard to tell? I'll try to do a more accurate "assessment" for you later. About that person that is so afraid that they will not be able to learn spells after a certain "level", you're *so* right...as long as your stats are high enough, you will learn a spell at your next level up, and only one spell - even if you are "backtracked" a few spells. After a few levels, you should eventually learn all of them. (The backtracked ones.) I find that to learn offensive spells, intelligence has to go up, and to learn stat up/down and healing spells, spirit has to go up...except for Hawk's Shuriken, (Uhhhhh: Well, Hawk's spells, not just Shuriken) which requires agility, that's the general rule! Another note, that Papa Potos also give you ???? Seeds, so you don't have to only fight during the night when in Pedan. A great way to gain levels using your walkthrough, is to always go in the opposite direction of what you say. That way, you always have to backtrack and fight more monsters, gaining more experience - I found that this way, I never had to do any "training", since I was always at the right level! =) It works. Again, thanks for your help...and I'm constantly looking for mistakes in your walkthrough! =) Just joking...ok, bye... Goffe P.S. My team with Angela, Hawk, and Kevin rocks!! (Currently Angela is a Delvar, Hawk is a Ninja, and Kevin is a Monk, after the first class change - I'm following your advice, of course.) I found that my other team of Lise, Hawk, and Carlie - which, btw, is NOT reviewed in your "All Teams" section, wasn't as good though, even though I followed the best classes for each of the characters. Mainly because of Carlie, who has a lack of physical and magical offense power earlier in the game. Hawk pulled off his end of the bargain...I play with my brother, and he just *has* to play as Hawk, every time. (His favorite character.) I found that Lise has mediocre physical and a lack of magical offense power. Her spells may get useful, but none of them multitarget until the end of the game!!! Maybe there is another route to get the maximum effectiveness out of this team?? =) Hope to download your "surprise" update soon... (Uhhhhh: It's a surprise walkthrough. :) ) I just thought you'd like to know... during the fight with Lugar in the Moonlight Forest, if you set your characters to not use Techs, the fight gets MUCH easier... because most of his attacks are a counterattack from a special attack... I've never really used magic against him, so I don't know if you can cast spells w/ out a counter, but I do know not to use Techs against him. Just thought you'd like to know... Mike Crenshaw, The Other Gray Meat I got some cheat codes to change classes without doing anything but I found a WIERD bug involving Angela. The cheat code is as follows:(It will not change the on-screen appearance. Only the status screen appearance will change) 1st character: 7FF114xx, 7FF115yy (Duran) 2nd character: 7FF414xx, 7FF415yy (Angela) 3rd character: 7FEE14xx, 7FEE15yy (Carlie) x y Neutral: 00 00 Light: 01 00 Dark: 01 01 Light-Light 02 00 Light-Dark 02 01 Dark-Light 02 02 Dark-Dark 02 03 Okay, the screwy bug was that, when I used a code to change Angela from a Delvar to a Grand Devina just to see how she looks in the Status menu.....Then I removed the codes. I was in Sand Town Deen at the time and went into the Scorching Desert close to Navarre, where one of those sping things were. Duran jumped on it and when he came back down, Angela had WHITE hair and BLUE clothing, unlike the dark brown and light blue of the Delvar......I opened a save state from right before the screen, and then, in Salamando's cave, when I saved and restarted, Angela changed into a Grand Devina again (white hair, blue costume, you get the idea) I used a code to change her back into a Delvar, but when she gained a level: Instead of gaining Salamando's Fireball, she gained HEAL LIGHT! A one-all Heal Light spell! This scared me so much, I fell from my chair! I, thankfully, had a save state in another place that took me back to Snow City Elrand, when I was about to go to Deen. WHEW! All was normal ^^ I might experiment with this bug with Carlie and see what happens....MIGHT. You could experiment with it if you wish, but I really don't know what happened ^^ Jerry Uhhhhh: I think I will test that out, then post the results here.....everyone watch for the results! Hello, I just discovered this useful tidbit: Final Fantasy Adventure is the name for the first Seiken Densetsu - but that's only for America! In Europe it was released as Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Just thought I'd clear this up. Thanks - Alex Uhhhhh: Thanks to all who have sent info in! Send all of your tips in to Hmmmmm@angelfire.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Class Change System | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The class change system has been what has made made this game so well known to the more serious RPGers, and is fun to play/experiment with, besides. How it works is you can first change to the Light/Dark at Lv. 18, then again to the Light/Dark at Lv. 38. Here's an example of how it works: Light-Light (At Lv. 38) | / | Light (At Lv. 18) | | / \ / | / Dark-Dark (At Lv. 38) Normal (At Lv. 1) \ Light-Light (At Lv. 38) \ | \ / | | Dark (At Lv. 18) | \ | Dark-Dark (At Lv. 38) Get it? Now, here are the different characters and their class changes, plus a description of how good/sucky they are, thanks to Magus. (with a few alterations by me, I hope you don't mind, Magus! I just wanted to make it a little better is all) Thanks again, Magus! --------------------------------------------------------------------- | |Duran | --------------------------------------------------------------------- Duran is an OK character. He has quite a high one hit Attack power, but takes ages to recover from each hit. He learns a few saber and healing spells, but the healing classes are less favorable most of the time. Honestly, if you want to do his quest, pick Angela as she is a much better character. Knight (Light) (Night Light?) Learns Heal Light and gets the ability to carry a shield. Lower power than the Gladiator. Nothing much new. Paladin (Light Light) Duran's 2nd best class, gets Saint Saber, Heal Light, best shield and good fullscreen power Attack. His best Light class. Lord (Light Dark) Sucks. Heal Light, Tinkle Rain and a low Attack power. Only good if you don't already have a healer in your group, as he can multitarget Heal Light. A (good/bad?) idea is to use this class if you didn't choose Carlie/Kevin. Gladiator (Dark) Cool. Learns all elemental sabers, has good Attack power, but no shield. None of his Dark classes gets a shield. A good starter. Duelist (Dark Dark) Kinda good, and the most powerful but only gets the useless (almost) Dark Saber spell. Is quite good but Swordmaster is better. Swordmaster (Dark Light) Best class, learns Moon and Leaf Saber, but doesn't have an extremely high Attack power. Bad thing is that he can't cast both of the Moon and Leaf Sabers on one person. The best class for him by far. --------------------------------------------------------------------- | |Angela | --------------------------------------------------------------------- Angela has a crap Attack power, but her very powerful and useful spells make up for it totally+. Learns five magic spells before her first class change, and when she changes she gets even more powerful spells. The best starting character if this is your first time playing, although I'm pretty sure your favorite will soon be Hawk. He can't be beat in this game. He's too good. -*)>^_^<(*- Sorceress (Light) Better than the Delvar as she learns more magic earlier, but crappy Attack power. Ummmmm, generally stay away from the Light side for her. Grand Deviner (Light Light) Sucks so bad, I won't even tell you about it, except for Double Spell, which lets you cast two spells at once at a heavy time cost. Plus, still a low Attack power and she can't multitarget spells! Arch Mage (Light Dark) The Deviner with different spells, and still sucks with attacks. Delvar (Dark) Quite useful with a good Attack power, but only learns one extra spell (Dark Force). Magus (Dark Dark) Most powerful magic user with Ancient and plenty other ones, but slow casting. Is still a good choice. Rune Master (Dark Light) Best class, no questions asked. Has a cool Death Spell, only bad thing is that she can't multitarget some of her good spells. Still, the only class with Level 3 spells, this is the (only) way to go with Angela. --------------------------------------------------------------------- | |Kevin | --------------------------------------------------------------------- Definitely the best fighter in the game, and he can also heal your party. At night he transforms into a werewolf which makes him way more powerful than he is in the day. He also has more than one tech attack per class, which is cool. A very good choice. Monk (Light) His first Light class gets a heal spell and a spell which makes him powerful through day. Good power attacks, but normal Attack power is lower than his Dark counterpart. God Hand (Light Light) The God Hand's attacks are pretty powerful, and he has quite a few good spells. Make that one, Aura Wave. Still not the best Light class. Warrior Monk (Light Dark) Definitely Kevin's best class, although he doesn't hit as hard as the others. He gains the cool Leaf Saber and the ability to multitarget Heal Light, definitely making this the best class for him. Bashkar (Dark) Has no extra spells, but excellent Attack power. Dervish (Dark Dark) Second strongest class, learns Moon Saber and has a good Attack power. But not as powerful as the Death Hand. Good to go with though. Death Hand (Dark Light) A brilliant class, though not the best. Best fighter, learns Energy Ball and becomes the strongest wolf at night. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Charlotte/Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Two names? Yeah, from what I've heard. Anyway, she is the best healer in the game and can also double as a good Dark magic user. A fun character, she learns Heal Light and Tinkle Rain before her first class change. If you choose her for your third character, you will get her on your way through the Cave of Waterfalls, which means three characters instead of just two to beat the first boss with. (Yeah!) :) Priestess (Light) Learns all four elemental sabers, Holy Ball and the ability to multi- target Heal Light. She doesn't have much of a high Attack power, but is a better choice than the Enchantress. Bishop (Light Light) If you pick her as your main character, this is the class to go, as the Turn Undead spell is very effective. She also gets Saint Saber and more fun spells, at the cost of low Attack power. A really good class. Sage (Light Dark) Pretty much sucks. She is just an improvement over the Priestess by getting multitarget on all her spells. Enchantress (Dark) Two weak summons, (Unicorn and Golem) although her later classes are MUCH better. Evil Shaman (Dark Dark) Gets some pretty cool summons, and a whole slew of fun spells, with the best Attack power of any of her classes. But she doesn't really have any GOOD things. Necromancer (Dark Light) Her best class if you aren't the main character. Gets the Black curse, cool multitarget healing spells, and some crappy spells besides. A good choice, if not the best. I (Uhhhhh) just found out that her Spirit needs to be 18 to learn Black Curse, her first spell. --------------------------------------------------------------------- | |Hawkeye/Hawk | --------------------------------------------------------------------- An awesome character, who is many people's favorite. He can Attack twice in one swing, (awesome) learns very good spells, and has the most variety of any character in the game. Ranger (Light) Gets a fullscreen tech, and a few weak traps. He isn't very powerful, but his final two classes make up for it. Wanderer (Light Light) Not much Attack power, but gets heaps of caning/stat-changing spells. An OK choice. Rogue (Light Dark) Many different skills make this class a favorite. Good Attack power, but some of his cool spells are weak. Still the best Light class. Ninja (Dark) Better in Attack than the Ranger, and has 5 cool ninjitsu attacks, which lower stats as well as deal damage. One thing on Hawk. His Agility needs to be 13 or 14 to learn "Shuriken". After you raise his Agility again, he will learn Water Jutsu, etc. etc. If he doesn't on a level after you've raised his Agility, either you've gotten them all for that class, (Thunder Jutsu is the last one) or you need to raise his Intelligence. OR you don't have the necessary "spirit" to learn the next one..... Nightblade (Dark Dark) My favorite Hawk class as he gets heaps of cool jitsu style attacks, a great tech (SPLIT-IMAGE SLICE!!!!!) and he looks dang awesome too. The best way you can go with Hawk. Ninja Master (Dark Light) no more skills over the Ninja, but he can multitarget spells, throw multiple Shurikens and has the highest Attack power. I still like Nightblade better though. You just can't beat Nightblade. --------------------------------------------------------------------- | |Lise/Riesz | --------------------------------------------------------------------- Another two named character! Good at fighting/techs and has some pretty cool stat changing magic. Pick Light, she upgrades your party's stats, and Dark, she downgrades the enemies'. Valkyrie (Light) Learns some stat-up spells, but she can't multitarget them. Rune Maiden is a better choice, but her later classes make up for this. Vanadies (Light Light) A CRAPPY class. Only good thing is her awesome fullscreen attack, but all her spells are pretty lame. Star Lancer (Light Dark) A very impressive class with probably the best summon in the game. (Marduck) Only bad thing about her is that she doesn't have a full- screen tech. This is her best class, with the ability to multi-target her stat-up spells. Rune Maiden (Dark) Better than Valkyrie, but only just. Good stat-down spells, attacks, and nothing bad. Fenrir Knight (Dark Dark) Best Dark class, and has some very good stat-down spells as well as a cool summon. Dragon Master (Dark Light) Pretty much sucks, and nothing much is good here. Pretty much Vanadies in Dark mode. So, to sum up, (I [Uhhhhh] made this following part) the best classes for each person are: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Duran | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------\ /\ |In the Light classes: |/\ | | ------------------------------\ | | |Paladin |/\/\ | | --------------------------------| |\ | | /| |In the Dark classes: |\/\/ | \_| |_/ | ------------------------------/ \__\__/__/ |Swordmaster |\/ |__| ----------------------------/ |__| ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ __ ----------------------------\ /\/\ |In the Light classes: |/\ \/\/ ------------------------------\ / / |Grand Deviner |/\/\ \|\ --------------------------------| / / |In the Dark classes: |\/\/ \|\ ------------------------------/ / / |Rune Master |\/ \|\ ----------------------------/ /_/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------\ |In the Light classes: |/\ ------------------------------\ |\ |Warrior Monk |/\/\ |\|||\ --------------------------------| |||||||\ |In the Dark classes: |\/\/ |\ |||||||| ------------------------------/ \\_|||||||| |Dervish |\/ \ \______/ ----------------------------/ \/_____/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------\ |In the Light classes: |/\ _ _ ------------------------------\ _ /_/\_\_____ |Bishop |/\/\ _/_/ / /\ \ --------------------------------| / \ | \/ /\| |In the Dark classes: |\/\/ \_/ | /\ | ------------------------------/ |_| \_\/__/ |Necromancer |\/ |_| ----------------------------/ |_| ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Hawk | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------\ |In the Light classes: |/\ ------------------------------\ |\ /| |Rogue |/\/\ ||\ /|| --------------------------------| \|\ /|/ |In the Dark classes: |\/\/ \|\ /|/ ------------------------------/ \_\ /_/ |Nightblade |\/ \_\ /_/ ----------------------------/ \_\ /_/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Lise | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ /| /| ----------------------------\ / | / | |In the Light classes: |/\ / / / / ------------------------------\ \ \__/ / |Star Lancer |/\/\ \/\__/ --------------------------------| / / |In the Dark classes: |\/\/ / / ------------------------------/ / / |Fenrir Knight |\/ /_/ ----------------------------/ /_/ /_/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |The Second Class Change (Thanks to Magus for this also) | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To do your second class change, wait until you have discovered Pedan and are heading to your final destination. In Pedan, level up to 38, then go to the Jungle of Illusion right next to it. Wait until night, and fight the Boulder enemies (purple balls with one eye). You will receive a treasure chest after that, most likely containing a ???? seed. Save state, and get 6-10, then head to the Pedan Inn nearby. Plant them in the chest inside the Inn, and you will receive a class change item. (Just hope you get the one you want) These are the items and respective classes: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arcane Book/Grand Deviner Book: Light Light, Grand Deviner Book of Secrets/Arch Mage Book: Light Dark, Arch Mage Book of Rune/Rune Master Book: Dark Light, Rune Master Forbidden Book/Magus Book: Dark Dark, Magus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Charlotte/Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Holy Water Vial/Bishop Jar: Light Light, Bishop Jar of Salt/Sage Jar: Light Dark, Sage Jar of Ashes/Necromancer Jar: Dark Light, Necromancer Jar of Blood/Evil Shaman Jar: Dark Dark, Evil Shaman ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Duran | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paladin's Proof/Paladin Medallion: Light Light, Paladin Lord's Proof/Lord Medallion: Light Dark, Lord Master's Proof/Sword Master's Medallion: Dark Light, Sword Master Duelist's Proof/Duelist's Medallion: Dark Dark, Duelist ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Hawkeye | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Good Luck Die/Wanderer Dice: Light Light, Wanderer Bad Luck Die/Rogue Dice: Light Dark, Rogue Bullseye Die/Ninja Master: Dark Light, Ninja Master Nighteye Die/Nightblade: Dark Dark, Nightblade ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gold Wolf Soul/God Hand Heart: Light Light, God Hand Silver Wolf Soul/Warrior Monk Heart: Light Dark, Warrior Monk Death Wolf Soul/Death Hand Heart: Dark Dark, Death Hand Demon Wolf Soul/Dervish Hand Heart: Dark Light, Dervish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Lise/Riesz | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Briesingamen/Vanadies Necklace: Light Light, Vanadies Morning Star Chain/Star Lancer Necklace: Light Dark, Star Lancer Knight Dragon Chain/Dragon Master Necklace: Dark Light, Dragon Master Gleipnir/Fenrir Knight Necklace: Dark Dark, Fenrir Knight Now that you have gotten the items, head to the Mana Holyland, and back to where the two Goddesses are. Head up to the white goddess, talk to it and use your item. Ta-da! Your final class change. (Note: You've gotta take the class change item out of storage first, duh! To do this, hit START, and the storage menu will come up. Exchange your class change item with another item that you don't need in your item ring, and then you can use it at the goddess. Ok?) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |All Teams | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is probably going to be my most pain in the >< section of the walkthrough, as I will be thinking of ALL different combinations of teams, while telling you how they'd fare in the game, and the best way to go for each of them. I think I'm going to need some major help with this one, so anyone with help/tips, send it in to Hmmmmm@angelfire.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela, Hawk, Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ My favorite so far, and probably the most/best balanced of all the teams. The strategy with this team is Angela as a Rune Master. Hawk as a Nightblade/Rogue, and Carlie as a Bishop/Necromancer. Carlie will do the healing, Hawk the main attacking/techs/and some spells, and Angela will do most of the good spells. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela, Duran, Lise | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pretty bad, but this team can be salvaged. Angela as Rune Master, Duran as Paladin with Heal Light, and Lise as Star Lancer is the best way to go. Angela has the spells, Duran with Heal Light and some other good stuff, and Lise will have the stat-up spells and Marduck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela, Duran, Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bad. Real bad. Your healing and offensive spells should be fine, but your Attack sucks, and Duran, the only person with OK Attack power, is slow to take a second strike after his first strike. Try Angela as Rune Master, Duran as Swordmaster, and Carlie as Bishop/Necromancer to salvage (?) this team. Angela, as always will have the offensive spells. Duran will have a hunk of sabers, and Carlie will have the healing spells. Hope you survive.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela, Hawk, Kevin | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pretty good. Two people have good Attack power, and two have good spells, while one has healing. Have Angela a Rune Master, Hawk a Nightblade, and Kevin a God Hand/Warrior Monk. Have fun. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela, Lise, Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Interesting. One person has good Attack, two good spells, one healing. Angela should be a Rune Master, Lise a Star Lancer, and Carlie a Bishop/Necromancer. This should be fun to use. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Hawk, Duran, Kevin | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fun. Fun. Fun. I haven't used it yet, but they will all have good Attack power, one good spells, one sabers, and one healing to make this a pretty well balanced team. Hawk should be a Nightblade/Rogue/Wanderer, Duran a Swordmaster, and Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand. This'll rock! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Hawk, Carlie, Kevin | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Good. Two have good Attack power, one have good spells, two have healing, and Carlie will either have sabers or some good Dark/stat-down spells. Hawk, as always, should be a Nightblade/Rogue, Carlie a Bishop/Necromancer, and Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand. If you lose with this one, go back to checkers. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Hawk, Duran, Lise | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kinda' bad, as you don't have any healers, but all of them will have good Attack power, one will have good spells, one sabers, one stat-down spells, and one stat-up spells. This is where Poto Oils come in handy. Have Hawk a Nightblade/Rogue, Duran a Swordmaster, and Lise a Star Lancer. Do NOT try this one at first..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin, Carlie, Lise | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is good and just plain fun to use. Two have good Attack power, Carlie will be the only one with good/half-good spells, two can have stat-down spells if you make Carlie a Necromancer, two have healing, one could have sabers if you make Carlie a Bishop. I'm almost positive you won't need Poto Oils for this team. (But just in case.....) Have Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand as usual, Carlie a Necromancer if you want good Dark/stat-down spells, or a Bishop if you want good Light spells. Have Lise a Star Lancer also, and I don't think you can die with this one. Try this on your second time through the game, as it isn't quite as balanced as some of the other teams, but you can't very easily die if you remember to heal. . . . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin, Duran, Lise | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok. All of them will have good Attack power, one sabers, one healing, one stat changing spells, making this an OK team, although no one has "good" spells. Have Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, Duran a Swordmaster, and Lise a Star Lancer. This is a third-time through the game kind of team, but whatever. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin, Lise, Hawk | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ All of them will have great Attack power, two will have stat changing spells, one healing, one good spells.....A great team. Make Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, Lise a Star Lancer, and Hawk a Nightblade. I think that people should like this team. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin, Carlie, Angela | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kevin will have great Attack power, two healing, one VERY good spells, and possibly sabers.....Good team, hands down. Anyway, make Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, Carlie a Bishop/Necromancer and Angela a Rune Master. Good team to start out with. You won't have to worry about healing, that's for sure. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Spell Stats | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You may be wondering what this section is for. (everyone nods) :) Anyway, it's to show you the stat that is crucial for learning any spell in any class of any character.....I know this'll take awhile, so be patient, and if you want to send in any stats that your guys were at when they learned their spells in a certain class, go ahead and send them in. Ok, here we go. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Duran | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ None known yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ None known yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ None known yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------- |Necromancer | Dark Saber | Spirit = 18 | ----------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Lise | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ None known yet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Hawk | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------- |Ninja | Shuriken | Agility = 13 | --------------------------------------- |Ninja | Water Jutsu | Agility = 14 | --------------------------------------- |Ninja | Fire Jutsu | Agility = 15 | --------------------------------------- |Ninja | Earth Jutsu | Agility = 16 | --------------------------------------- |Ninja | Thunder Jutsu | Agility = 17 | --------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Techs | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, this is pretty self-evident. They are: Angela, Carlie/Charlotte, Lise/Riesz, Kevin, Duran, and Hawkeye/Hawk. The best team if you're a beginner is Angela first, Hawk second, and Carlie third. Reasons: #1, you get three people instead of two to beat the first boss with. #2, this is probably the best balanced team you can have. But take your pick. After that come the 6 different beginnings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Angela's beginning | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You start out in magic class, get pissed off, and leave. Now, watch the scene when you go right, and now, search the whole palace through, talking to everyone, and you will eventually be called by your friend. Now, go to the courtyard, (right in front of those two doors that the magicians say you can't pass through) and talk to your friend. Go up to one of the magicians and go inside. Watch the scene, and after that you will be outside of Altena. Go South, killing as many monsters as possible, although you will eventually "die", where you will be awakened in Elrand. Go to the pub, talk to the fortune teller, and the guy next to her, then go outside. You will head to Jad on a ship. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Duran's beginning | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You will appear at the King's Castle (or something like that). Let the knight there kill you, and then when you get restored it's time to kill him. A handy little tactic is when the blue attack bar at the bottom of the screen turns green, press B and you will do a tech attack. Remember this tactic! Anyway, once you have beaten him, go with the flow until the Kingdom of Altena attacks. Follow the red robed mage, Koren, and strike him a few times. Then he will laugh at you, and say something about Magic. Then, when the king leaves, talk to him. Leave the castle and head down to the cave, get through there and board the ship. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Hawk's beginning | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll start the game with Nikita and 2 other thieves sneaking through Sand City Sultan, stealing some money. The king will want to talk with you. When you go to speak with him, you'll meet General Isabela. After that, go downstairs, North through the door, through the middle door, up the stairs to the right, down, up the stairs to the right, and take the exit down to get outside, on the right is a set of steps leading to Eagle. Head back to see Isabela. Isabela will turn Eagle into an evil fiend, who will try and kill you. (Oh no ^_^) Strike Evil Eagle while trying to avoid his attacks. After you badly wound Eagle, he'll be back to normal. Isabela kills Eagle with Fire magic, and jails you for asassinating Eagle. (That little.....oh I won't say, it's still a walkthrough not a swearing marathon) Then she curses Eagle's sister, Jessica. You decide to go to Wendel to see if the Priest can remove Jessica's curse. Time to head over to Jad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Lise's beginning | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You start out fighting a needle bird. (Oh joy. :) ) Then, going to Rolante Castle, Elliot, your brother is missing. :( Talk to Alma, the old lady. Elliot will now be forced to trip the control of the gates. Head to the South-West of the castle and save. The Ninjas of Navarre will beat up Elliot when you try to save him. Head over to the king.....Navarre invades now. Time to go to Jad..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Kevin's beginning | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Watch the scene, and after it you'll see Kevin and Carl. Kevin will tell Carl to howl. Now find your way back to the Beast Kingdom castle. Carl will morph for some reson and start attacking you. (?) Let Carl win. Then Kevin will become a werewolf and beat Carl, killing him. (Wahhhhh!) Go to the castle and go out the door on the right. Then head down, and outside to the outer part of the castle, and go to the left door. Speak to Lugar. Go back out and go up through the middle. Then you will hear people talking. He breaks through the wall and attacks. The king will punch Kevin over the wall, then Kevin will go to Jad after getting through the Moonlight Forest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Carlie's beginning | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You'll start out in a big field of flowers. Later, you see Heath talk with the big, bad Priest. :) Carlie will try to follow Heath, and will bounce off a little yellow spring thing. Then, she'll see the Death Jester warp Heath away, then she will vow to save him. Unlike all the other characters, she will head to Astoria, and not Jad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jad | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Talk to the innkeeper and say you want to wake up at night. Go outside of the city, beat the wolves, then go South. Of course, you could go in and out of the city, beating up the wolves, until you get to Lv. 2, but it's up to you. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Rabite Forest | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head through this place, killing as many enemies as possible. Go as far West as you can until you find a golden goddess. Heal and save here. Fight more enemies, while healing and saving at the goddess, until Lv. 3. Now go East until you find a place with no enemies, and one-two signs. Go South twice and you will be in Astoria. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Astoria | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy a new weapon at the weapon shop. Now talk to everyone, then go to the Inn and rest. You will be awakened and go outside. Follow the bright ball all the way to the goddess. Save and go South, South, and East. Talk to the fairy, watch the kinda' creepy/funny scene, and go back to Astoria, but not before you have reached Lv. 4. You find that Astoria has been trashed by the beastmen. (Boo-Hoo) Go North and East. You will meet your second character here! Go East into the cave. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cave of Waterfalls | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go South, save and heal if needed, then go South, East, West, North, save, North, South, South, East, West, North, save, North, South, etc. to build up some major levels. (5) From the golden goddess, go South, South, West, West, and help the girl. If you chose Carlie as your third character, you will get her now. Go West, West, and South. Go West and you should be in Wendel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Wendel | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heal and save. Buy anything you need. Go North to the Temple and talk to the Priest. Watch the scene, and go back to the Cave of Waterfalls if you're prepared. Just make sure you buy many Round Drops, etc. etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cave of Waterfalls | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go back to where you saw/found Carlie and the Fairie will go up and down, and crap like that. Go to the goddess now, build up until Lv. 6 and go South and West. Use the Fairie to make you go across. Now go North, North, and go left if you want for a silver goddess that can save for you but not heal you. Go right, keep on going, and you will soon meet the first boss, Full Metal Hagger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Full Metal Hagger | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ button for those nice techniques. You should stay alive if you can follow those simple directions. :) (Even without them you should be able to beat him real easily.) After you beat Full Metal Hagger, Angela and Carlie can now learn their first spell! Angela will get Holy Ball, and Carlie Heal Light. But, you need to go up a level or two and up their Agility/Intelligence stats first. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cave of Waterfalls | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After you beat him, go South, South, and West. Try going West again and you will be pushed way dowwwwwn. :) You wake up in Jad Castle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jad Castle/Jad | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You will only have one HP. Talk to the person in the next cell. It will either be Duran or your third character, depending on whether you chose Carlie as your third character or not. Well, either way, you get busted out of the slammer. Heal and save at the golden goddess there, and go build up levels here until everyone is at Lv. 7. Then go to the dock, (western side of town) and get on the ship for Maia. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Maia | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ talk to everyone in town and you will meet a little dwarf type guy named "Bon Voyage". He seems to be an inventor (a nice way of putting it[he's more like a quack, liar, and mad scientist rolled into one]) that, well, invents! :) He has built this cannon that he keeps changing the name of. (just trying to impress you, I think) Well, now that you're done talking to him, head West. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Golden Road | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fight a bunch of enemies, always going West or South, and when you reach a cave, go in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cleft of the Earth | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go East. Now, before you walk South and across the bridge, make sure you and you will fight some Golems. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Golems | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ These guys are kinda' hard. Just keep whacking away at them, using the green bar techniques, throwing a spell or two at them if you have Angela, healing with Carlie/Items, and just plain staying alive, and this shouldn't give you much trouble. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cleft of the Earth | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head on out of here, but save if you want, and head back to Maia, to chat and pound on good ol' Bon Voyage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Maia | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Talk to Bon Voyage again. Go out back. Talk to him. Now talk to everybody in town to find out where you can find some gunpowder. I think you have to talk to the guy in front of the pots that are in front of the inn to be able to find the entrance to the Dwarf Village. Go back to the Cleft of the Earth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cleft of the Earth | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ about the light refracting and fooling you. (Although if it was just the light, you would have been able to walk through it in real life.) After that little scene, go South, East, and North. You should be in the Dwarf Village. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dwarf Village | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heal and save, buy what you need, etc. etc. Now talk to everyone, and go to the Item Shop if you haven't already done so, and the dwarf there will say to go South-East of the village. Do so. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dwarf Tunnel | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ you. Now go East, North, West, North-East, East, talk to Watts, and say no to both of his offers, as you can get it free in a little bit. Make sure you build up your levels to about 10 around here. Now go West, West, South, West, West, South, North-West, East, East, North, East, East, North-West, West, South for a silver goddess you can save at. Go back North, and go West, North, South-West, South, make sure you're prepared, and go North-West. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jewel Eater | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Okay, this guy is kinda' hard but pretty easy at Lv. 10. Give him a few Holy Balls if you have Angela, Heal with Carlie/Items, use the green bar techniques, etc. You can't block his attacks so forget about trying to dodge them. Just keep attacking and be careful of your HP/MP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dwarf Tunnel/Cleft of the Earth | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After you beat Jewel Eater, You will meet Gnome and Watts will give you the gunpowder for free. Gnome will also transport you out of the Dwarf Tunnel to the Cleft of the Earth with his Magical Rope. Use it. Now head back to Maia for a final (hopefully) chat with Bon Voyage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Maia | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heal and save, buy what you need, etc. Now head to Bon Voyage's house and watch the funny scene, especially if you have Carlie in front. Go out back, talk to him, and, ummmmm.....Bon Voyage! :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Molebear Highlands | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You land in the Molebear Highlands instead of Forcena. Watch the scene, (Angela, "I think I broke a nail!") then walk through this place, always going East/North/South, and after a while, go North at an "intersection" of North/West/South roads. You will now be in Forcena. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Forcena | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oh no! You've walked right into the middle of an invasion! Everything will be fine, don't worry. Go into the castle, and keep going North untill you find a place where you can only go North to the right or left. Take either one, and you soon should reach the King of Forcena. He's about to become Chop Suey at the hands of Koren! Oh no! Save the king! :) Actually, just go up to Koren, whack him once, and he will say a bunch of crap like, "We will meet again" or something like that. Now, the king will tell you about the different Mana Stones/Spirits. Exit the castle, and talk to the guy that looks strangely like Bon Voyage. Could it be.....Nah! It's his brother, Bon Jour. After you talk to him, go buy what you need, make sure it's daylight, and go to the South-Western portion of the city where there will be a house. Go inside, talk to the lady there, who will say something like, "There is a huge cannon set up in the courtyard. I wonder what it is for?" Go back to Bon Jour, and he will blast you back to Maia. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Maia | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heal, save, buy whatever, you know the stinking drill. :) Head to the West of Maia, to the Golden Road. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Golden Road | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This seems familiar, in two ways: #1, think The Wizard of Oz, and you'll see. #2, we've been here before. Ok, go West again, to the Cleft of the Earth, but keep going West past the cave until you reach Byzel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Byzel | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You know the drill. Make sure it is night, then go to the "Black Market". Buy Poto Oils and Mama Poto Oils, and I mean TONS. Whether or not you have a healer. Here's why: If you don't have a healer, then these will be crucial. If you do, then if your healer runs out of MP, you can just use the Poto Oils to heal your whole party about 200+ HP. Cool, huh? Well, buy what you need, then head to Palo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Palo | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You know the drill, as usual. Talk to everyone here, and you will very easily find out about Navarre invading this place. Well, after you're done with that, go West to the "Path to the Heavens". ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Path to the Heavens | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A really good place to level up to about 12-13. Go North, North, East, North, East, North, East and East. You should be at some sort of cave entrance. Go in, save at the silver goddess, and go South. Go a little down, then up to the right. Keep following the path, reach the flower patch, and you will fall asleep. [Zzzzzz.....zzzz.....zzz.....zz.....z.. ...zz.....zzz.....zzzz.....zzzzZ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Amazon Hideout | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You will wake up here. You probably have a headache from that sleeping stuff, so take a caffeine pill, and.....ok, ok, I was just kidding. :) Talk to everyone, and in a certain room to the North, you will overhear a meeting of the Amazon people. They need some help finding a Corobokkle named Don Perignon. Get out of here, go North, talk to the Amazoness, follow her North, and there will be another of Bon Voyage's cannons. The Amazoness will say she is related to him, and will also ask you if you want to go to Byzel. Say yes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Byzel | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stock up on Poto/Mama Poto Oils at the Black Market, and go to the North-Western area of the Black Market, talk to the Granny, and you should receive a Chibikko Hammer! Now, head over to Jad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jad | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head South from Jad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Rabite Forest | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go South, West, West, South, West, South, West, heal at the golden goddess, and go South. (I don't know if those are the exact directions, but oh well, we've been here before, so you should find everything easily enough) Now, use the Chibikko Hammer on everybody, "talk" to the statue, and a passage to the North-West will show up. Head up there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Corobokkle | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Talk to the old Corobokkle, then talk to everyone in the whole village. Now go back to that old man, talk to him, and he will "admit" (more like taunt and annoy ^_^) to being Don Perignon. Everyone gets angry, Don Perignon gives a dumb excuse, and then he helps you. Head back to Jad, then to Palo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Palo | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You know the drill, rest, get stuff, etc. Go West to the Path to the Heavens once you're ready. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Path to the Heavens | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go North, go North, go North.....eventually you will reach the Corridor of Wind. Make sure you have stocked up on items..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Corridor of Wind | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In here you have to hit switches to change the "air flow" from the statues. If you're leveled up good, then this will be a snap. (crackle, pop?) 14 is really good and 15 is, well, can anyone here spell EASY? Let's try it: E - A - S - Y. Good job! (In other words, you won't have to worry about levels here) Well, hit the first switch you see and go West. Then you will hit more switches to go West and East. Time to head down..... In the next room, it's a little harder than the rest of the cave, and was confusing for me. :) Get blown all over the place, then when you can move freely, go North, hit the switch there, then head back South, go through the grate, then go TOTALLY East, hit the switch there, then go back, and head South through the "exit". (No, you're not through yet [That probably got a lot of people mad]) You will be outside. Go South-West for a golden goddess. Save and heal, then go back East. Go East, and East again, and East again. :) You will see Jinn, the Wind Spirit, getting beaten up by the Dark-Shine Knight. Then Jinn will summon (not to his liking I think) Tzenker. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Tzenker | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ One of the easier bosses I think, especially if you picked up some Earth Coins in Byzel, and Angela (if you have her) has learned Gem Missile. Keep pounding on him if you don't have any of those, and you should survive. (Well, you know, if you keep your HP up, and don't make a fool of yourself by trying any stupid kamikaze tricks) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Corridor of Wind/Path to the Heavens | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, after you "dress the turkey", :) Jinn, the Wind Spirit, will join you. Now, you can do one of two things: #1: Go back to the room with the grate, then go East, East, and keep on going East and South and you will soon be out of here, then go to the flower patch where you fell asleep, watch the scene, and go to Rolante Castle. OR #2: Build up to Lv. 18 here, and get your first class change, although that will take up TONS of your time. (Note: BIG waste of time, but helpful now and then) Then, after that, follow #1 above, OK? Oh yeah, if you do do this, NEVER battle a monster chest, as it is always the same level you are, and your armor/weapons aren't strong enough to fight them very easily, although it can be done. :) Make your decision, as in a little while you won't be able to class change as you'll be on an island with no Mana Stone, but that's another section of the walkthrough.....Anyway, on to Rolante! (Note: make sure you followed #1 above to get out of here) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Rolante Castle | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The enemies here are harder than before, (duh!) so when you reach the golden goddess, you might wanna get to Lv. 15-16. From the start, go North-East, North-East, East, up the stairs..... South, North, East, South, East, East, North, North, South, into the left door, then into the right door, then into the middle room. A golden goddess! Yeah! Heal and save if you want, then go South, then North-West if you're Lv. 15+. You will now fight a "fun" boss, Genova. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Genova | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, this is kinda' hard. Not as hard as I thought though. (Phew!) Genova will spit out Shape Shifters at you that change into different enemies when they faint. If you have a strong fighter, use them, and here are the best to use from stongest to weakest: Hawk, (as he can attack twice in one swing) Kevin, (at night) Lise, Duran, Carlie/Angela (I don't know which is stronger out of those two). You will have at least one of the stronger people, so switch to the strongest character by pressing Select one or two times. Or, if you are already in control of the person with the most strength, by all means don't switch. Now, getting back to Genova, attack Genova, and let your other two take care of the Shape Shifters. If you can, throw a spell/item at him once in a while, although save some, as there is another even HARDER boss right after this one, and you can't go back and heal between. After you beat Genova, heal, and restock what items you can from storage. Go North. Now to fight Bill and Ben. (!@#$!@#$) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Bill and Ben | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, I hate these guys. Alot. You will too by the end of this fight. :) Now, fight, fight, fight, and die, die, die! :) J/K. There is basically no strategy for them except to fight, fight, fight. Use items/magic as much as possible here. I hope you live. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Rolante Castle/Path to the Heavens | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, go North, watch the scene, and get out of here. Now head back to Palo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Palo | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You know the drill. After you do that, make sure you're prepared for a semi-long journey. Now go to the port, and get on the ship. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Ghost Ship | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ You will wake up in the middle of the night, wondering what's taking so long.....Go South, East, and South to a three-door corridor. Go in the left one, go up to the bookcase and select the books in this order: right, left, middle, left. Now, go right. Put the character that isn't so good in front using Select. (Keep Angela in your team, and Carlie also. If you have them at least) Read the book, and a weirdo "ghost specialist" will appear. He's a ghost! ^_^ How fitting. Anyway, talk to him with the person you don't like in front. They'll be turned into a ghost now, and that guy will fade away. (Dang!) Now you need to rescue that person by finding your way through here. Walk out of this room, and go back.....Go one or two rooms past the three-door corridor mentioned above. Take the North-Eastern staircase there. Now go left, up, and South. Make sure you're healed/stocked up on items, as the boss, Gorva is to the West. Now head West..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Gorva | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you have Angela and Carlie, this'll probably be the easiest battle in the whole game. Use Holy Ball on Gorva, and heal as needed. If you have only one, then use Carlie for healing and Angela for Holy Ball. If you have neither, heal as needed with items, and hit him whenever possible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Ghost Ship | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After you beat Gorva, you'll get your third character back, and Shade, the Dark elemental, will join you. He will talk quite a bit, then the ship will start to disappear! Oh no! :) You will be transported somehow to Volcanic Island Bucca. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Volcanic Island Bucca | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ First, before you do anything, (although you can't do anything else anyway) go North, then North again. You will see Bookasboo, the legendary turtle. Now go back, and head East, West, East, South, West, South, North, West, South, West, North, North, North and East. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dark Priest Village | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Talk to everyone here first, remembering where the stores are. Now, buy what you need, heal at the totem pole, and save. Build up your levels to at LEAST 16, and very preferably 17 or 18 for a much easier time with the upcoming cave..... After you're done level building, head out of town, go West, South, North-West, North, West, and West. You will see a seemingly unimportant rock near the top of the screen. Go up to it, and examine it with the A button. If you talked to the Dark Priest that was to the right of the Weapon seller, then you can use Gnome on it. Use Gnome. A cave will open up. Head inside, and may the Mana Force be with you.....:) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Seashore Cave | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When you're in go East, East, South, East, South and West. A golden goddess is here! Use it to gain any levels you need. (Probably Lv. 18 is good) Now head South, West, West, South, North-West, West, West, and save if you want. Go North and North. You will meet Jagan, a servant of the Dark Prince. He will say he has come to destroy you. Oh no! :) Soon, after his "speech", the volcano starts to erupt! Oh, stop it! You're not going to die yet! Bookasboo comes along and saves the day! Woo-hoo! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Golden Road | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head West, North and East. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Maia | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy, what you need, rest, save, etc. Now go to Bon Voyage, and have him launch you to Forcena. Here we go again..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Forcena | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Looks like he finally got the coordinates right, hehe. Go into the castle and talk to the king. He will talk to you about the Mana Stones/Spirits. He will also give you the Pihyara Flute, which can summon Bookasboo. Make sure you have an empty space in your item ring before attempting to take the Pihyara Flute. Now, get blasted back to Maia, and from Maia, go West to the Golden Road, and head South to the beach you recently landed on. Use the Pihyara Flute, and Bookasboo will come. The controls are simple, and I don't need to explain them, I hope. If you need an explanation, here goes: Up is forward, Down is backward, Left is leftwards.....:) Now, if you are Lv. 18, head to Palo, in a bay in the South-Eastern corner of the world, and go through the Corridor of Wind again to get your first class change, then head back to the beach near Palo after that and get on the water. If you're not Lv. 18, head to the big ice place in the Northern part of the world. Go into a bay, and land on the beach. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Elrand | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy what you need, heal, save, etc. etc. You can get a shield for Duran here if he is a Light class, although Dark is 2 times better in the end. Now, after you do all of that, Head South-East to the Sub-Zero Snowfield. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Sub-Zero Snowfield | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a very good place to build up your levels. Try Lv. 20 or so. Make sure you have your first class change before coming here. From the start, go South, West, West, West, South, West, West, South, and North-West. There's a silver statue here. Save if you want. Now go North, West, North, North, West, West, South, South, and East. Here you will find a golden goddess. Heal and save here.....*ping!* :).....Now go West and West..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Machine Golems (Again? Ahhhhh, man!) | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ These guys are kinda' hard, even if you're prepared. Use Air Blast on them for a MUCH easier time against these dudes. Just keep attacking, healing, and casting spells against these guys.....You should be done soon. If you haven't had your first class change.....Well, good luck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Sub-Zero Snowfield | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go West from there, and North. Go up to the Mana Stone, and "talk" to it. You will now see a bunch of crap and receive Undine. Head back to Elrand and the beach..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Elrand | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy, heal, save, etc. Now go to the beach, get on Bookasboo, and head on out. Go to the South-Eastern part of the world. Land on the beach and head East. You are now in Sand City Sultan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Sand City Sultan | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy what you need here, heal, save, talk to everyone, etc. Once you've done everything you need to do, go East to the Desert of Scorching Heat. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Desert of Scorching Heat | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A nice place to gain levels. 22 is good enough for now. From the start, go East, South, East, South, South, South, East, East, and East. You are now in Oasis City Deen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Oasis City Deen | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy what you need, heal, save, etc. Gain any levels if needed. Now, after all of that, head West. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Desert of Scorching Heat | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From the West of Deen, go West, West, West, West, East, South, and heal up here. When you're ready, go East. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Bill and Ben | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Groans* Not these two again! Oh well, just make sure you are Lv. 20+ and have had your first class change. Now, the strategy: Fight, spells, heal, fight some more, up/lower stats, etc. etc. Just stay alive as best as possible, and try to dodge their attacks, although you can't dodge their magic/special attacks, so don't try.....After you beat them, you won't have to fight them ever again! Woo-hoo! Yeah! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Desert of Scorching Heat | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After you beat Bill and Ben, go back to Oasis City Deen if you want to stock up, heal, save, etc. then come back. Or you can just head South from here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Valley of Flames | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, from the entrance, go South, South, East, South, East, North, and West. A golden goddess is here, so heal/save, then head East. Watch the scene, then follow Bigieu East again. Talk to Bigieu again and watch the scene.....afterwards she will leave. Go up to the Mana Stone, and talk to it. Salamando will now join you. Get out of here, then head back to Sand City Sultan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Sand City Sultan | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy, heal, save, etc. Now go West to the beach, and get on Bookasboo. Head towards the center of the map. Now go North a little to the continent there. Find a beach there, and land. Go East and South. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moonlight City Mintos | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Buy new weapons/armor/items, talk to all the people, heal, save, etc. Now, go West to the Moonlight Forest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moonlight Forest | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 24 is a good level to be for this place, but I really recommend 25, and I mean it. Anyway, from the start of this place, go South, South, North-West, West, West, South, West, and North. Watch the scene, which by the way is 100% funnier if Carlie is in the team, and now, let's beat Lugar. *groans in pain* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Lugar | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hard. One of the few hard bosses in this game. His combos are the thing to worry about, as 2 can kill you easily. I told you to get up to Lv. 25 lazy people. :) Ok, how to beat him: Cast spells, anything works, attack him, use your techs, use items, bite your nails off, scream and shout and stomp on the controller/keyboard, bang your head against the screen, and if you followed those directions exactly (J/K) you will end up beating him some millenium. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moonlight Forest | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Watch Lugar turn into a baby, and you get Luna now. Go into the Moonreading Tower, talk to the stone, and head out of this forest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moonlight City Mintos | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heal, save, etc. Now, go to the beach and call Bookasboo.....find the last dot "available", and land on the beach there. You are now in the Moonlight Forest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moonlight Forest | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Use Luna at the bushes, walk in, talk to Carlie, (You won't be able to talk to her in this way if she is in your party) and wait until night. Lv. 26-27 is very good for this place. Anyway, when it is night, head in, and follow the red flowers to Diorre. For those of you who are lazy, (^_^) here are the directions: South, South, West, South, South, East, South, West, and North. You are now in Diorre. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Diorre | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ No one will speak with you here, so here's what you need to do. Go up, left, and down to find a big mansion. Go inside, go into the next room, and talk to the mayor. Watch the scene, and go out of the mansion. Buy your weapons/armor needed, heal, save, and get out of here. You now need to find the golden goddess. Go East, North, and West to find it. Use Luna on it, and now head West, West, North, and North. Say hi to Gildervine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Gildervine | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Easier than most bosses, and if you're on Lv. 23+, this will almost be easier than Full Metal Hagger at the beginning of the game. All that you need to do is throw spells at him, attack him, use your techs, and just pulverize him. You will beat him soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moonlight Forest | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After Gildervine is gone, Dryad will join you. Now, head out of the forest, and get on Bookasboo. Swim to the middle of the map, and find the island with the beach. Go there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Island of Oblivion | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From where you land, head West, South, and Faerie will open the Gate to the Mana Holyland. Now you will see Altena, the Beast Kingdom, and Navarre heading to the Mana Holyland. Looks like you need to stop them, but how to get to the Holyland? Well, I guess you need Flammie. Now we need to head to Palo/Rolante. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Rolante | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Swim there. If you can't seem to find it, Palo is in the South-Eastern part of the world map, in a "crescent" bay. Now, once in Palo, head up to Rolante Castle, and if you can't find your way up, look back in the walkthrough for directions. After you get there, talk to the person to the right. She will open up a path to the East. Go East. (duh) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Summit of the Skies | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go North-East, West, North, East, and South. Watch the scene where you climb some stairs, and find out that this "father" is actually a girl. Now she will help you get to the Mana Holyland. Hold on! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mana Holyland | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Seems like somebody died. Hmmmmm. This is a great place to get up levels, so try Lv. 27-28. From the first screen, go North, West, North, West, North, (if you're wondering how you need to go on the lilies) South, West, North, North. Two golden goddesses are here, as well as the second class change white . Use the golden goddesses to level up if you want to. Now, moving along, go East, East, North-West, and North. The Sword of Mana is at the top of the screen. (This game ain't quite done yet though!) Go up to the sword, and soon Faerie will disappear. Open the chest to get the Wind Drum, which will be able to summon Flammie. Now, head back to the first screen. On your way back, you should meet two of these three: #1: Death Jester. #2: Koren and the Dark-shine Knight. If Duran/Angela aren't the main character these two will die. #3: Jagan and Bigieu. If Lise/Hawk aren't the main character say bye-bye to these two. When you reach the screen you started at, your "arch-enemy" will appear, and tell you that if you want Faerie back, you need to go to Altena, (for Angela/Duran) Navarre, (for Hawk/Lise) or the Beast Kingdom. (for Carlie/Kevin) Now get going. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Altena (Duran/Angela) | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, once you get here, heal, save, buy, etc. Go to the North if you want to to get up 1-2 levels. 28-29 is good. When you are done with all preparations, head North into the castle. (the same place you went to build levels) Now go North through the left door, North, South through the second door to the left, up the stairs, North, North, North through the center door, and North through the right door. Koren, the Red Magician is here. Watch the scene. Now Faerie tells you about a really not nice story about how the Mana Beasts have been released. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Navarre (Hawk/Lise) | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fly Flammie North of Oasis City Deen. Land near the big castle, and go North, North, and you should be outside. Go into the door you see to find a goddess. For this place, Lv. 28-29 is fine. Head North-East, and enter. Go North, North, up the right stairway, and keep going to find the stairs/door at the end. Go North through the middle door, North, and now through the left door. Go North, down the stairs, and say "Hi!" to Bigieu. Watch the scene, and Faerie's story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Beast Kingdom (Kevin/Carlie) | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Level up to 28-29 here. Now head North, North-East, East, South, West, South, South, and North. Watch the nice little scene, and after that go North, following the path. Talk to the Beast King, and listen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mana Beasts (Note: You don't need to fight these in any particular | | order) | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note: This is the order I recommend, so that you will have a slightly easier time, but whatever order you choose is fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moon-reading Tower | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, to get to the Moon-reading Tower, you need to go to Moonlight City Mintos. After you get there, go West, South, South, North-West, West, West, South, West, and North. Go North. You're in now. From here go North-West, up the stairs, South, North-East, up the stairs, South, South-West, up the stairs, South, and North-East. Here's a golden goddess. Build up to Lv. 29-31. Now go South, North-West, up the stairs, South, North-East, up the stairs, South, North-West, up the stairs, South, North-East, up the stairs, South, North-West, up the stairs, South, North-East, up the stairs, South, North-West, up the stairs, South, and North-East on the lower level.....another golden goddess is here. (Yay.....) Heal/Save, and then go South, and North. Make sure you were ready, 'cause here comes Dolan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dolan | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dolan's quite a pain. A good strategy is to "hide" in the left or right corner so that it's harder to hit you. Use Dark Force if possible, and if you have Hawk/Lise, use Stat-down spells if you went to the Dark side. :) After an eternity, you'll defeat him. Good luck. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Moon-reading Tower | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, eat, drink, and be merry. You just beat one of the hardest Mana Beasts in the game. Get out of here, and now to the next Mana Beast! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Corridor of Wind | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, go to Palo, and up the Path to the Heavens, going to the Corridor of Wind. For directions on how to get through the Corridor of Wind/get there, look back in the walkthrough. Anyway, once you get to where Tzenker was, Flammie will appear, you will jump on, and here comes Danguard.....Just hope that for your second Mana Beast you've gotten up to about Lv. 32. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Danguard | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, let's see. Have fun! Seriously! This boss is one of the easiest in the entire game. Just use Diamond Saber or Gem Missile for one of the easiest fights of the game.....the battle looks cool also, as it changes from an overhead view to a side-scrolling view. Weird, but how it works is after you've taken off 1/4 of Danguard's life, the view changes. :) Anyway, soon you'll beat him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Corridor of Wind | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After Danguard, get out of here, and on to the next Mana Beast! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Labyrinth of Ice Walls | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ stuff from them.....now you're ready. (I hope) Now to go inside. Once in, go North, South-West, North-West, North-West, North-East, North, North, East, South, and North-East. There's a golden goddess here. (Jump for joy and do the splits in tight pants ^_^) Save and level up to 34 or so.....from the golden goddess go South, South-East, and North. Say hello to your worst nightmare. J/K. Say hi to Fiegmund. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Fiegmund | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, here we go. Use Salamando's magic like the dickens. Dark Force wouldn't be too bad. Use Fire Saber if you have it. You'll win in a while, but until then..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Forest of Wonder | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fly to the East of Altena, where there is a great expanse of forest. On the Eastern edge of the forest is a small clearing. Land there. Now, so that you won't sit here all day, here's what you need to do. From the place where you landed, go West, North-East, North, East, North-East, West, West, and West. There's a golden goddess here. Lv. 36 is good. Now, go North-East, East, East, and East. Say hi to Mispolm. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mispolm | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, this guy's weakness is Moon, so if you have Moon Saber, use it. Dark Force works good, as always, and Thunder Jutsu could be a big help. The two heads might come down, trying to bite you. Sometimes they can do a decent amount of damage, so watch out. Lucky for you this guy's not too hard. :) When you beat him, then it's time to go to the Valley of Gemstone! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Valley of Gemstone | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, land in the Molebear Highlands. You should have landed where you can only go West. Go North, North, East, North-West, into the hole and then West and West. Here are the two kitty cats from earlier. Get whatever you need, and head into the Valley of Gemstone to the South.....*waits* Ok, now that you are here, Lv. 36+ is good. Now, heading in, from the start go South, South, East, East, East, West, West, South-East, East, South, and West for a nice little golden goddess. Yip-dee- doo.....Save/Heal/etc. and from there go East, East, South, West, West, South, and West. Say "hi" to Land Umber. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Land Umber | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, he's pretty rude. He didn't say hi back. :( Well then, it's time to beat the crap out of him and show him some manners. Thunder Saber, Air Blast, and Thunder Jutsu all work good on this craptacular beast. If you have none of those, just use your most powerful spells, and he'll go down easier than cheese under a knife. Now, if only he'd brought a napkin to wipe up his remains.....I see he still hasn't learned any manners.....Oh well. Now time for Xan Bie! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Valley of Flames | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, let's see.....go to Oasis City Deen. buy anything you need, save, heal, whatever, bla, bla, bla. Now go over to the Valley of Flames. (It's to the West of Oasis City Deen) Ok, once you get here, go South, South, East, South, East, North, and West. There is a golden goddess here. (We've been here before, of course) Now, from here, go North, South-East, West, North, East, East, South, East, East, East, East, South, East, and North-East. Say hello to Mr. Hot Air. Ummmmm.....I mean Xan Bie. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Xan Bie | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Easier than *splut*. No problem with Ice Saber/Ice Smash. Thunder Jutsu helps only in that it lowers Defense.....Water Jutsu works good, while at the same time lowering Attack power. Use any of those, pound away, and all that will be left is a wisp of steam, floating on the breeze. (Didn't know I was a poet, huh? :) ) Ok, on to Light Gazer.....(Oh no! ) Man, I watch too much Disney. (<(sarcasm major?)>) Oh, brother..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Ancient Ruins of Light | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go to the dot West of Rolante, near Wendel. *waits as impatiently as possible* Oh yeah, make sure you bring the Chibikko Hammer. *everyone looks at Uhhhhh like he's nuts* Trust me. .....So, you got here. Big deal. "Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back!" :) Ok, since you're here, here we go.....From where you land, go East, North-West, West, North-East, North, North, South-East, East, South, East, and North. Kill the monsters, and read the note. Now go back. Talk to the right tablet, and use Shade. Talk to the left and use Wisp. Now go, South, West, East, North, and North-West. Heal/Save here, then go North to face Light Gazer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Light Gazer | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, make sure you have the Chibikko Hammer, and a few Poto/Mama Poto Oils would be good, too. Use Shuriken or Dark Force/Saber and he'll go down easilly. If you get moogled, use the Chibikko Hammer twice.....anyway, in about 2 seconds, ( :) ) he'll be gone.....Bah to him. Now, you need to go to Pedan.....*waits for you to hurry up* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Pedan | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, now how to get here. Go to the island in the South-Western part of the world map. Now, land in the clearing. Go East, and North. Talk tot the guy there. Now go into the building to the East of him. It looks like an Inn. Hmmmmm. How about sleep at the Inn? *snores* Ok, you wake up. Now go outside. Looks like somehow you were transported somewhere in time.....Bah.....anyway, get new armor here, but no new weapons, as you won't ever need them. Ok, talk to EVERYONE and someone in the Western part of town will tell you about Dragon's Hole/Jungle of Illusion/Cave of Darkness and a certain big monster or some such. Well, before getting any foolish ideas into your head about saving the world, you need to get your second class change. Level up to at least 36 if you aren't already. Now, at night go West of Pedan. Search every screen and if you see a purple ball with one eye, attack its partner and then attack it. Afterwards, if you killed it last and it dropped a treasure chest, save state with an emulator, if you are using one. If not, then good luck. Well, check the chest, and if you don't get a ???? seed, keep loading states until you get one. Get about 8-15, and go back to Pedan, healing at the Inn and saving. Now, you need certain items from the seeds to class change for your guys, so here are the items, and what they can class change your guys into, thanks to Magus: (as usual with a few alterations by me) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Angela | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arcane Book/Grand Deviner Book: Light Light, Grand Deviner Book of Secrets/Arch Mage Book: Light Dark, Arch Mage Book of Rune/Rune Master Book: Dark Light, Rune Master Forbidden Book/Magus Book: Dark Dark, Magus ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Charlotte/Carlie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Holy Water Vial/Bishop Jar: Light Light, Bishop Jar of Salt/Sage Jar: Light Dark, Sage Jar of Ashes/Necromancer Jar: Dark Light, Necromancer Jar of Blood/Evil Shaman Jar: Dark Dark, Evil Shaman ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Duran | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paladin's Proof/Paladin Medallion: Light Light, Paladin Lord's Proof/Lord Medallion: Light Dark, Lord Master's Proof/Sword Master's Medallion: Dark Light, Sword Master Duelist's Proof/Duelist's Medallion: Dark Dark, Duelist ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Hawkeye | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Good Luck Die/Wanderer Dice: Light Light, Wanderer Bad Luck Die/Rogue Dice: Light Dark, Rogue Bullseye Die/Ninja Master: Dark Light, Ninja Master Nighteye Die/Nightblade: Dark Dark, Nightblade ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Kevin | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gold Wolf Soul/God Hand Heart: Light Light, God Hand Silver Wolf Soul/Warrior Monk Heart: Light Dark, Warrior Monk Death Wolf Soul/Death Hand Heart: Dark Dark, Death Hand Demon Wolf Soul/Dervish Hand Heart: Dark Light, Dervish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |Lise/Riesz | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Briesingamen/Vanadies Necklace: Light Light, Vanadies Morning Star Chain/Star Lancer Necklace: Light Dark, Star Lancer Knight Dragon Chain/Dragon Master Necklace: Dark Light, Dragon Master Gleipnir/Fenrir Knight Necklace: Dark Dark, Fenrir Knight ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once you have gotten the class change items, head to the Mana Holyland, back to where the two golden goddesses are. Ok?) Anyway, once you get your second class change, I think it's time to get the best weaponry/armor. Now, here we go. You may have received a Weapon/Armor seed from an enemy somewhere along the line. Well, I hope you used it and got the weapon/armor. Anyway, the best weapons/armor in the game come from Great Rabites, enemies that can be found in the day with Papa Potos. Well, kill off the Papa Poto first, then the Rabite. Save state if possible, and keep trying for one. When you get about 10, go back to town, heal/save, and try using the seeds. They will give you a piece of armor/a weapon. When you have everything, make sure you are at least on about Lv. 42 before we go on to the end of the game here. Ok, *takes a deep breath* here we go. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Your ending work. . . . . | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, this last part is divided into three parts as there are three scenarios depending on the main character you chose. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Angela's/Duran's end scenario | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Glass Desert | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, you need to go to the Glass Desert. It's in the North-Western part if the world map. Once you get there, go North, North, North, North, North, West, South-West, East, East, up through the sand, then East around the block there. Now go North, West, North, and North. You will see a cave entrance. Stock up now on Holy items/Poto Oils/etc. Heal up, save state, etc. Now, once you're ready it's time to take on Zable-Fahr. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Zable-Fahr | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Zable-Fahr is kinda' hard, but he's easy enough that you'll only need a couple of healing spells. Use your most powerful spells, and Saint Saber/Holy Ball/Saint Beam/etc. works good. Here's what you do: Focus on ONE of the two heads at first. Kill it. Now go to the next head. When you kill it, the "real" battle begins. A new head comes out. It casts Hell Cross. It hurts. Badly. Now heal up, then focus only on the new head. Thunder Jutsu will work good here. Shuriken works OK also. Right before it dies, the middle head casts Hell Cross again, so make sure you were healed up beforehand. If you kill one of the heads to the side, the middle head will cast Hell Cross on you. You could have as many as 4 Hell Crosses on you.....(Ouch!) Anyway, once you've beaten Zable-Fahr, go back to Pedan, stock up on anything, and come back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dragon's Hole | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go North after the scene. Go East. Heal/Save. Now go North and North- East. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dark-Shine Knight | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, you know him prolly since he's been bugging you the whole game. Anyway, he is Duran's father, an evil spirit now. :( Well, looks like you have to beat him. Oh well. Ok, use stat-up/stat-down spells, Saint Saber, any Holy spells, Thunder Jutsu/Shuriken, the Black Curse from Carlie if Necromancer, etc. etc. You'll win soon. I didn't find him hard enough to write a detailed "walkthrough" on his battle. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dragon's Hole | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, once done with that, your levels should/should soon be Lv. 45+. Ok, go back to the golden goddess and heal/save. Now go back to where you fought the Dark-Shine Knight. Go North, West, North, and East. There is a gray headless goddess here. Save if needed. Now, moving on, go East, East, and North. Stock up on ground items, get healed up, and go West. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Tzenker | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, you've fought this guy before, but I'll give you a strategy anyway. :) Well, use ground items, Stone Cloud/Death Spell/Thunder Jutsu/Shuriken. Keep pounding away and you'll soon win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dragon's Hole | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go East, South, walk down a little and go West. Now go South, East, and East, South, South, East. Save at the goddess if needed. Now go West, South, West, and West. Here's Jewel Eater again. (Yea.....I mean No! :) ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jewel Eater | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A little harder than before. Give him some Air Blasts, use Thunder Saber if possible, and keep attacking. You can't dodge his attacks though. :( Soon, he'll just be a big pile of mud. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dragon's Hole | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, after Mr. Mud, go South, East, North, and East. Save again at the goddess if you want to. Now go East, South, West, and North. Say hello again to Full Metal Hagger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Full Metal Hagger | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Aim for his eyes, keep attacking, using techs, spells, sabers, etc. Heal as needed, and soon he'll be a hunk of lead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dragon's Hole | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, after the Lead Master, head South, up the stairs in the South- Eastern part of this room, West, and save at the goddess here. Now go West, North, West, West, South, South, South, East, North, and North. Koren the Red Magician is here to taunt you with a lecture and some dragons. After you beat them, go South to a new area, South again, and save at the goddess. Now go West, West, North, East, East, and North. You are now in a castle. Now, go North, and kill all the enemies in the room. Keep healed. Then go North, and say "Hi!" to Koren the Red Magician. Except he ain't here just to talk this time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Koren the Red Magician | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guy uses strong elemental spells on your whole party. Just make sure you stay healed. Don't use magic. Keep thwacking him physically. It'll be a long, sweaty battle, and your controller/keyboard will be ready to sue you for sweaty harassment by the time you beat this guy, but it'll all be worth it in the end. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dragon's Hole | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After you have defeated Koren, head North-West of the Black Knight's room as far as you can. You'll soon find yourself walking down an empty vertical corridor. (Follow it South and if you see a ramp where you can go down but not up, you're here). Push on the wall to the left, and meet the Black Rabite! On to other stuff for now, I might put up a short guide to beating the Black Rabite, but if you really want a lengthy, 10 or so KB, very informative, guide on the Black Rabite, go to MuskKitty's at GameFAQs.com. Ok, back to the walkthrough, looks like you need to go to the Mana Holyland to stop the Dragon Emperor from cutting down the Mana Tree. Go South and save here at the goddess, then call Flammie. If you need to, stock up on items at a town somewhere, then go to the dot in the center of the map to head to the Mana Holyland. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mana Holyland | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok. You're here. What fun. :) Level up as much as you can. 80+ is perfect for this place, but 99, etc. is way too much. 45 or 50 will get you through the game though. Anyway, from where you start out, go North, West, North, East, East, North, North, West, North, North, West, North, and save here. This is a good place to level up. :) Anyway, once you get to level 5 Billion, (LoL) go East, North, and West. Kill all of the enemies here. Now, moving on, go West, North and go West. Now go North, East, and East. If you're ready, walk across the logs. You are now at the Mana Tree. Time to fight the Dragon Emperor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dragon Emperor | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A nice boss. Anyway, down to business, (takes off headphones and turns off music) keep yourself healed, and whenever this guy changes color, it signifies a new weakness. (White=Holy, Black=Dark, Blue=Ice/Water, Red=Fire, Green=Tree, ?=Moon. When you see one of those colors, use the opposite elemental spell) Death Spell rocks against this guy, doing 999 damage if you are over Lv. 70 or so. Sometime during the battle the music will change. That means that you have brought him down to half of his full HP. Keep punding him as usual, and soon you'll have beaten the game! (puts headphones back on and turns up music really loud in a victory dance) :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Hawk's/Lise's ending scenario | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yeah for you. You have the hardest bosses in the game. Hehehe. Well, I guess you're glad I didn't tell you in the beginning of the game. (Everyone gives Uhhhhh a glare, and deletes their games) What? The bosses aren't THAT hard! (Everyone gets a look of disbelief on their faces at what they've just done by deleting their games) Ok, fine, I'll wait for you to do your game over again. *waits* ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cave of Darkness | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, you got it? Good. Ok, let's get started. And don't worry, you have the most interesting final area of them all. So, go to the island in the North-Eastern part of the map and land there. After you enter the cave, the screen will go bright and then totally black. Press pause and then adjust your TV's/Monitor's brightness to it's brightest. Now it will be a little easier. Level up to about 40 or so, and go West, North, North, East, and North. Head to the North-West, but don't enter yet. Get ready for battle, and bring along any items with Holy properties if possible. Now enter, and say hey to Zable-Fahr, the Dark Mana beast. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Cave of Darkness | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now, after Zable-Fahr, go West, South, South, up the stairs here, and North. Enter the door and save here. Go East about three "screens". Touch the statue to turn on the lights. Woo-hoo! Now go back one screen, South down the stairs, and into the the door to the West. Go South, and fall in a hole to fight Jagan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jagan | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lv. 43+ is highly recommended. He brings along a Bloody Wolf and a Carmilla Queen. That little cheap-o. You need to kill them too. Jagan casts Death Spell often, so watch your butt and heal often. Use Death Spell on him and his sidekicks for a nice piece of irony and death. Kill the sidekicks first thing so that you don't have to worry about them being an annoyance, then go for the big daddy, Jagan. Use all Fire attacks/spells/sabers/items/etc. And use Hawk's spells, Lise's stat- changers, and keep pounding away. If you don't run out of Poto Oils, Honey Jars, Angel Grails, or Magic Walnuts, this'll almost be a piece of cake. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Darkness Cave | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, after that frickin' prick from hell, you'll somehow end up in the first part of the cave. Go North, North-West, West through the place where Zable-Fahr was, South, South, up the stairs there, North, save, East and up the ice trail in the middle, defest the enemiesthat are here, and go North-East. Go North, North, save, East, East, and North. Time to enter the Darkness Castle. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Darkness Castle | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This place looks pretty cool. Almost as if someone's been cleaning the place just for your "enjoyment". Go left or right, it doesn't matter. Kill all the enemies. Every single one. EVERY SINGLE ONE THAT YOU CAN!!!!! In every room! Ok, once that's done, head up the stairs, and press the skull to open the door on the lower floor. Head to the lower floor and go through the door. Now head, North, East, East, South, save, up the stairs, West, West, into the middle door, and then go up to the throne. Fall down, and face Full Metal Hagger. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Full Metal Hagger | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Aim for his eyes, keep attacking, using techs, spells, sabers, etc. Heal as needed, and soon he'll be a hunk of lead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Darkness Castle | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now, head South, East near the light, South, South-East, defeat all the enemies, go to the left of the caged door and press A. The door will open. Some rooms are like this, so be ready to do it again. Going on, go into the door, and head West, South, West, Souht, South, South, open the door via the "lefty trick". :) Now to fight Genova. (Oh no! :) ) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Genova | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, this is kinda' hard. Keep pounding away, and you will soon win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Darkness Castle | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, from here, go North, North, North, up the stairs, West, South, save, North, up the stairs, South, and say hey to Tzenker. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Darkness Castle | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, now go, West, past the blocked off staircase, keep going until you find a door, go North, down the stairs, South, save, East, East, and North. Bigieu is here. Looks like you'll finally get that battle you've waited for. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Bigieu | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well, ummmmm.....Hard! Make sure you are Lv. 45+. Bigieu will turn into a freaky cat and go totally nuts. (Meow? MREOW! PFFT! PFFT!) Watch out for Moon Saber, as right after she casts it she will go berserk with an insane combo that gives her life too. Earth type spells work good here. (Stone Cloud) Anti-Magic is good, and if you have it, use it right after she casts Moon Saber. Watch your butt when she casts Lamia Naga, her summon, as it poisons you and really takes your life down. Don't use any sabers, but use stat-changers, and Stone Cloud if possible. Soon, (I think) you will win. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Darkness Castle | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, go back to the blocked off staircase, which is unblocked now, and go up the stairs. Now talk to the Dark Prince and head to the Mana Holyland! Time to fight the Archdemon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Archdemon | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guy's really hard. He has two forms. The first is like Duran's/Angela's in that he'll keep changing elemental weaknesses, (check back there for a small "guide") and Dark, Moon, and Earth are the ones to look out for. The other problem is that before changing elements he launches a super attack on you. Heal as often as needed, use Death Spell if you have it as it deals out 999 damage. When he changes, pound him as hard as you can. Use sabers if you want to, Use all of your MP, techs, heal as needed, and watch out for his 500 damage or so super attack. It'll take you about 30 minutes, (?) but after you beat him, say buh-bye to this game. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Kevin's/Carlie's ending scenario | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, you have an OK end boss, and the rest is kinda' hard.....so.....let's get to it before I fall asleep on this keyboard at 4 AM in the morning..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Pedan | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stock up, heal/save, etc. Now, go to the Jungle of Illusion to the South..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jungle of Illusion | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, you need to be about Lv. 40 to go through here.....Head West, North, North-West, talk to the headless statue, use Dryad, heal/save at the statue and head South through the path that opens.....go East, North, West, South, West, West, North, and heal/save at the statue. Stock up on items. *waits* Ok, after you are done with that.....head North into (hell). It hurts. Badly. Now heal up, then focus only on the head. Thunder Jutsu will work good here. Shuriken works OK also. Right before it dies, the middle head casts Hell Cross again, so make sure you were healed up beforehand. If you kill one of the heads to the side, the middle head will cast Hell Cross on you. You could have as many as 4 Hell Crosses on you.....(Ouch!) Anyway, once you've beaten Zable-Fahr, open the treasure chest, go back to Pedan, stock up on anything, and come back. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Jungle of Illusion | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From Zable-Fahr's lair, go South, South, West, North, North, and save.....gain levels until you are about Lv. 42-43.....From the statue, go South, West, North, and North. You'll be asked something. Use the Illusion Mirror, and then.....Death Jester will (poof!) appear! Time to beat his little..... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Death Jester | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Very.....fun.....he'll divide into three Death Jester's.....you have to guess the right one and hit it.....dang.....well, cast Moon/Leaf saber if possible, it might not help much, but.....anything works. :) Using just weapons for this battle might be good, although Dark Force multi- target is ok, etc. Even if you find the right one, he will change his position again after a while. :( Well, just hope that you can beat him.....*hopes that you can* :) LoL. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mirage Palace. Part I | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ After you beat him, a path will appear to the North.....head back to Pedan for Angel Grails, etc. and go to Byzel for Poto/Mama Poto Oils. You'll need them for the Mirage Palace.....after stocking up, come back to the screen where you beat Death Jester. Go North, and talk to the priest guy person dude. :) Go North-West and North.....talk to the skeleton and save..... Ok, there are six paths and six orbs.....you need to go through each path and do a certain thing to light up one of the orbs that corresponds to a path.....after you light up all six orbs you can head up the North path..... Take the path to the South-West first.....go North-East, West, South, South, and South-East. Open the treasure chest here, and return to the main hall.....an orb should be lit.....good.....:).....now.....to the next path..... Now, the one to the West.....go North, North-East, into the middle, and North. Time to say hello again to Genova. Or, if you are already in control of the person with the most strength, by all means 't switch. Now, getting back to Genova, attack Genova, and let your other two take care of the Shape Shifters. If you can, throw a spell/item at him once in a while. It shouldn't be too hard. :) Just be about, say, Lv. 43-45. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mirage Palace. Part I | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Return to the main hall, heal/save..... Go North-West, North, North, South, and you should be in Astoria.....talk to everyone, and then go back North.....say hi to Mr. Ghost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Ghost | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Talk about easy.....my heck.....what a lame boss.....just Saint Saber/Holy Ball/Saint Beam to death.....*sighs*.....*what a hard boss, it took me.....1 time to beat it! [everyone gasps] * :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mirage Palace. Part I | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Return to the main hall, heal/save..... Go East and North-East.....here's Gildervine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Gildervine | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Easier than most bosses, and if you're on Lv. 44+, this will almost be easier than Full Metal Hagger at the beginning of the game. All that you need to do is throw spells at him, attack him, use your techs, and just pulverize him. You will beat him soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mirage Palace. Part I | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Return to the main hall, heal/save..... Go South-East, and then North-East.....now time to warp and warp and warp and.....:).....Well, you get the idea.....after you warp and.....:) Well, then return to the main hall.....:) Heal/save.....go North-East. Kill all of the enemies, head up the stairs, and flip the switch. Enter the door below you, and go North, North-East, North-West, North, North, North-East, North-West, North, North, North-East, and North-West.....North-East and North. Now go back to the main hall, talk to the skeleton, and go through the door to the North. Make sure you are ready for a kinda' big battle though..... Go North, North, and North.....time to battle a bunch of enemies.....fight about 5,000,000,000,000 enemies, and then some. :) Then, after you beat them, go north, into the Mirage Palace, Part 2. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mirage Palace. Part II | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go North, North, and save at Mrs. Headless Goddess. :) Go South, and make sure the switch is down.....go East and North, and you should see two switches. Flip the left switch down and the right switch up.....Go North, and then to the stairs on the South-East. Go West. Flip the switch here, and head back toward that goddess. You'll enter a room with a bridge on it somewhere along the way.....save if possible before going over it..... Go over the bridge.....walk along the wall and walk through a part of it. Then teleport. Go West to see Gorva again. :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Gorva | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you have Angela and Carlie, this'll probably be the easiest battle in the whole game. Use Holy Ball on Gorva, and heal as needed. If you have only one, then use Carlie for healing and Angela for Holy Ball. If you have neither, heal as needed with items/magic, and hit him whenever possible. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mirage Palace. Part II | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Go West and into the teleporter, then South, across the balcony, and North-East. If you have Kevin, make sure it is night-time.....it'll be 500% better that way.....then go into the North-East teleporter. You'll be in a throne room. Watch the scene, go after the Masked Mage, but have Heath stand in your way. :( ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Heath | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kevin as a werewolf helps big-time here. But it's still hard. Don't use sabers. Hawk as a Nightblade comes in really handy with Black Rain/Split-Image Slice/Thunder Jutsu. Carlie should use Heal Light/Tinkle Rain. Kevin with Lv. 1 techs works nicely. You should beat him sometime this millenium.....:) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Mirage Palace. Part II | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok, after you beat him, it's time to head to the Mana Holyland..... Time to fight the Dark Lich. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Dark Lich | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'd say probably the easiest final boss of this whole game. Use any Light spells you have, and Saint saber is very useful. Kevin works really good, and so is Hawk. Watch out for Dark Lich's mega spell, Death Ecstasy. It is stronger than Ancient. He also has Ancient and Hell Cross.....Ouch.....but, you'll beat him soon. YEAH! You've beat the game! Woo-hoo! Watch the ending..... ~This concludes the walkthrough section of Uhhhhh's Seiken Densetsu 3 FAQ/Walkthrough~ Hehe. Finally done! Now, let's move on to other things.....come on.....yes, this way.....JUST FLIPPIN' LOOK DOWN!!! :p ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | |Enemy/Item List | | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ BIG THANKS TO CHRIS SEROYA! Chris Seroya: HERE IT IS!!! My incomplete guide to all the enemies in the game, mostly, and the items they give you. Please note this and take it seriously. IF I SEE THIS LIST ANYWHERE BUT THIS FAQ WITHOUT MY CONSENT, I WILL SEND ALL HELL TO RIP OPEN A HOLE TO HELL AND SEND YOU DOWN THERE!!! Now then. Quick note about this list. I based it on Hawk/Lise's quest, so not all the enemies are here. Also, every enemy gives you a trap roullette. I'm pointing this out right now. Some enemies will only appear at a certain place at a certain time (EG. Boundwolf at Jad Castle after the escape, Zombie at night). Nice FAQ. Hope you can answer my questions here ^_^ I'm using Kevin, Hawk, and Duran. Everything was fine and great but it started to get ugly when I fought the 7th Mana Beast. I already defeated the Wind, Fire, and Ice beast (thanks to the black market's stuff) but now I have to face the Tree beast and his weakness is Thunder. Eeekk...the market doesn't sell Thunder Claw and I have no spell casters who can cast Thunder Saber at Lv. 33. What should I do?? Thanks! A: I think the black market sells a Claw/Item that will cast Thunder Saber or something, probably the Siren's Claw.....Actually, something probably better than Thunder Saber would be Thunder Jutsu from Hawk, as it also lowers the enemies' Defense. Try that and see how it works. If I find something better I'll e-mail ya' back later. Q: Okay, I got rid of the Tree beast but now there's that Dolan...I die after 3-4 attacks of his attacks. (serious) I checked out for the Siren's Claw that you mentioned earlier but it casts Wind spell. Or is Wind Saber the same as Thunder Saber? A: For how to beat Dolan, "hide" in the left or right corner, and bring Poto Oils. Also, use Kevin's healing spells. With Hawk, if a Ninja, use Thunder Jutsu/Fire Jutsu to lower his Defense/Magic Effectiveness..... Q: Uhhhhh, First of all, I'd like to say that you have a very nice FAQ, even if it's not 100% complete yet. Currently I'm up to first class change with Hawk (Ninja), Kevin (Monk), and Duran (Gladiator), and it's been quite a nice team so far. I'd like to ask you about these following teams I've thought about it for my next play through (I'm already planning ahead, I have a long summer ahead of me)... Angela/Carlie, Kevin, Lise Lise/Angela/Carlie, Kevin, Hawk Angela, Carlie, Hawk/Kevin I'd appreciate it if you could comment on these teams in terms of both kick-ass invulnerability factor (after 2nd class change with optimal classes, of course) and fun factor (I'm guessing the Hawk teams would win out on this one). Some of these are already in your FAQ, but I'm sort of hoping for direct comparisons. I know I listed 7 teams, and that might be a lot, so if you only feel like picking the best 2 that would be fine. Another question...Would a level 99 Angela's (Rune Master) Death Spell work against the Black Rabite or its summoned creatures? Thanks for your time and patience. A: Well, thank you for your compliments. *bows* Now to business. Teams: Angela, Kevin, and Lise: Ok, you've got a pretty good team here. One healer, two with good Attack power, one with stat-up or down spells, and one with very good spells. Have Angela a Rune Master, Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, and Lise a Star Lancer/Fenrir Knight. This is actually a pretty fun team to work with, but Hawk's is funner. :) Carlie, Kevin, Lise: Ok, but I prefer the above. Two healers, Two with good Attack power, one stat-up or down spells but possibly two, maybe one with sabers, but no one with good spells. :( Anyway, have Carlie a Bishop/Necromancer, Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, and Lise a Star Lancer/Fenrir Knight. Fun, as you can tease the bosses with your two healers. :) Hawk, Kevin, Lise: Good. Really good. One healer, all have good Attack power, two with stat-up or down spells, maybe one with sabers, and one with good spells. Hawk should be a Nightblade, Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, and Lise should be a Star Lancer. Fun, fun, fun! Angela, Kevin, Hawk: This is, ummmmm, good. :) One healer, two have good Attack power, one with stat-down spells, maybe one with sabers, and two with good spells. Angela should be a Rune Master, Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, and Hawk a Nightblade. A pretty fun team. Carlie, Kevin, Hawk: Good, but why need two healers? Oh well. Anyway, there are two healers, two have good Attack power, one, possible two have stat-down spells, maybe two with sabers, and one with good spells. Carlie should be a Bishop/Necromancer, Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand, and Hawk a Nightblade. Fun, with the two healers. :) Angela, Carlie, Hawk: See the FAQ.....this is VERY fun though..... Angela, Carlie, Kevin: I think this is already in the FAQ, but anyway.....it's a good team, with two healers, one person with good Attack power, possible one has a stat-down spell, possibly two with sabers, and one with good spells. Angela should be a Rune Master, Carlie a Bishop/Necromancer, and Kevin a Warrior Monk/God Hand. Fun.(ny) :) And your question: Would a level 99 Angela's (Rune Master) Death Spell work against the Black Rabite or its summoned creatures? My answer is: Only if you used a Specter's Eye that you get at the Black Market in Byzel. Q:In the Corridor of Winds... I KEEP GOING IN CIRCLES!!!!! I'M LOST HELP ME PLEASE!! A: Ok, I think I see your problem.....you need to find a metal shiny thing and you need to "walk" into it, and then walk left and down, then figure out the puzzle and keep heading South.....I hope that helps. Q: Hey, thanks for making the strategy, it helps alot, and I got a guestion. I'm at the Beast Kingdom after getting the sword, and I'm only at Lv. 24 with Hawk, Angela, and Kevin. So I'm getting my butt kicked, do you know where the fastest place would be to level up for my team would be? Thanks alot. A: Hmmmmm.....thanks for the compliments.....Anyway, go back to the Mana Holyland and level up there for a while, then come to the Beast Kingdom and whoop some ass.....:) Q: I read your walkthrough for Seiken Densetsu 3(Secret of Mana 2) and I have a couple things to say. 1: I got your walkthrough at www.gamesages.com. 2: I'm only on level 23 and I got to the 2nd class change for level 38 in the Mana Holyland and I was wondering how you level up with the golden goddess statues(use them to heal and keep getting into battles?). Yes i did get that far on that low of a level. Do you recommend anything? I want to class change before I go on and I want to know if there's a secret way of using the golden goddess statues. A: You are right in saying that.....I mean about using the golden goddesses to heal, then keep getting into battles. :) Just do that until Lv. 38..... Q: Hey, I have a question about the game SEIKEN DENSETSU 3, its an easy question but i can't figure out how to equip my partners with different weapons. Can you help me? Write back as soon as possible. Thanks. A: It's in the walkthrough.....just go to the Sub-screen, press right and up, then press Select to switch to different characters. Then select the item of your choice to replace. Q and A: Hi Uhhhhh, I thank you for your walkthrough, but I am still confused a bit about the game. I want to ask: 1. If I have already chosen the Light class in the first changing can I go back to the Dark class? Well.....sorta'. You can go Light-Dark if you make that mistake, but you can't go to Dark unless you have a save state/game that dates back to before you changed to light. 2. I have chosen Dark-Dark class, which other classes can I change to?? Is it only the Dark-Light, or can I go to Light-Light and Light-Dark classes..? Yes, you can go Light-Dark/Light-Light. BUT, only if you haven't gone to the "Dark Side" ( :) ) first..... 3. Can you give me a few suggestions on which classes are the best?? I am using Duran, Kevin, Hawk. I am thinking of Sword Master, Warrior Monk and Nightblade but some people say that Paladin is better than Sword Master....which one is true?? For this team, the Sword Master is better.....if you picked Angela, Duran and Lise/Hawk, then Paladin would be better though. For this team go for Nightblade, Sword Master, and Warrior Monk/God Hand. 4. Is it true that if your level is too high you cannot get some magic when you meet the mana stone (Salamando, Undine, etc). I read from your FAQ and some people say that he was in level 53 before he got Salamando, and he could not get the magic when he changed his class. PLEASEEEEEEE ANSWER MY QUESTION..... AND THANKSSS A LOTTTTTT Oh brother. :) Well, you can get magic at ANY level if you get the spirit.....and if you have your stats high enough. Don't worry, it'll be alright. :) Q: Hi, this is Thegaryson. I like your FAQ, and I have a question. My main guy is Hawkeye and I'm in "Thanatos Manor" or Dark Castle. I defeated Full Metal Hagger and then the fireplace that throws bad guys at you (I believe it is called Hell's Furnace or something). I was pretty much out of items so I used Magic Rope to get out and save. Now I can't get back to where I was. When I go to the floor where you fall through the hole (to fight Full Metal Hagger) nothing happens. Also at the very begining of the castle I went through the first room on the left there is a stairway leading to the basement, but when I get down there the room is blocked by fire. I'm playing the Super Famicon cartridge version of this game, not an emulator (if that helps). Is there a way out of this or did I waste twenty-six hours of playing time? Thank you. A: Well, I think you are screwed on the first part, but on the second part, it should be in the walkthrough. I feel sorry about that first part though....:( Q: OK, could you tell me where all the god beasts are and what type they are. And where do you get the ???? seeds to get the second class level? Once again my team is Duran, Angela, and Kevin. I need help badly! A: Hmmmmm..... God beasts: Rolante -Wind Forest -Dryad Moon Tower -Moon Gemstone Valley-Earth Ice Valley -Water Light Ruins -Light Fire Valley -Fire Final Areas -Dark (Note: I might have spelled the names of some areas/remembered them wrong.) ???? seeds: You get them from fighting Boulders (one-eyed purple flying stone things) but killing them last. Save state (if using an emulator) before opening any chests so you can make sure you get what you want. Q: Ok, right. When I wrote to you I played the game and found and beat all the God beasts but I still need help to break the seal to change classes, The second class change. My friend told me that I need the ???? seed and I found it and I couldn't change. I was level 38 and it said I need a special item. Thanks for the help. A: Man, you are hard to please, aren't you? :) Anyway, you don't just need the ???? seed, you need to plant it in an Inn for a special item that will let your character change into the class you want them to. BUT, it doesn't always come easy. You might have to go through about 40 seeds until you get the right item. So, keep trying, and you'll find it in the end. (Note: A list of all items needed for class changes are in my walkthrough) Q: What is with this part?? I'm completely stuck. I can't go anywhere but out, and all that does is take me to the yellow road(Maia to Byzel)and the busted bridge!! I see a cave entrance that I can't reach and I've tried so many things to get me there. (no luck :( ) Well anyway, I would appreciate a reply to this, as I can do nothing in the meantime except level up. (I'm on Lv. 13 already!!) Well, thank you and please reply when you get the chance. A: Hmph.....nobody ever reads the damn walkthrough.....no offense or anything.....anyway, here's what you do: After beating the two robots at the bridge, go back to Maia, and TALK TO THE MAN IN FRONT OF THE POTS; THE POTS ARE IN FRONT OF THE INN. I've had to answer this question too many times.....*sighs* Oh well, I just hope people will read the walkthrough from now on. :) Q: How do I get out of the Molebear Highlands? It seems all paths lead to dead ends! Also when does Bon Jour in the castle have the cannon ready? A: Ok, in Forcena, go into the house in the South-Western part of it, and talk to the woman there. Now, Bon Jour's cannon is ready. : I have a question about a new combo I am planning to try. It is: Kevin (God Hand), Hawk (Nightblade), and Carlie (Bishop). Carlie can turn undead on all the enemies in the late game. Also, if Kevin Aura Waves Hawk, you can Split Image Slice whenever you want practically. A: Pretty dang good. I think Necromancer on Carlie is better, but Bishop's good too. Q: Hey man! I read your FAQ and its realllll good. But I have a question. I leveled up my characters to Lv. 18 and they won't change side (good/ evil) at least I don't think they will. 'Cause when I got to Lv. 18 all I saw was the distribution (you know the one where it asks you which stat do you want to level up like strength, agility, vitality and so on) chart. Is my game screwed up or do I need to do some special thing on the menus or something? A: Remember the statue in the Corridor of Wind? You need to find one of those statues and then "talk" to it, then choose whether to go Light or Dark. Simple as that. Q: Hello, hi. Well, first of all, I would like to say that your Seiken Densetsu 3 walkthrough is great. But now let's get on to the main point... Well, I'm in the Cave of Darkness with a party of Hawk (Nightblade), Duran (Swordsmaster) & Carlie (Bishop), and right now I'm pretty much stuck. For some reason, your guide just leaves me to a dead end... I'm pretty sure that I'm also going the right way as well. I destroy Jagan & the other people, and I went up those stairs and wandered around for a bit, but I found out that I kept on going in circles, so I turned to your guide. I came back to where I was when I first fought Jagan, beat him, and took the stairs up (The stairs are gone, though, but I still recognize the place. It was 3 pathways (Including the one I came from), and at the bottom it's just darkness, right?). Halfway through your directions, I just ran into the statue that turns the lights on in the cave. No where else to go. If you can help me, I would really appreciate it! A: Well, hmmmmmm.....I don't currently have a saved game there, and I don't remember it too well, but try again, maybe trying different directions this time, since I may have messed up a bit on the directions. Other than that, I can't help you for now. Sorry. Q: Sorry to bother you for a third time, but I came up with a team for SD3 that I think is good: Angela: Rune Master for offensive magic. Lise: Star Lancer for good offense and stat-up. Hawk: Nightblade for the jutsu powerdown and offense. I think this should be a pretty good team, requiring alot of Poto Oils and such. Angela will pound away with spells, Lise will raise the party's stats, and Hawk will lower the enemy's stats, while also dealing some damage. Please tell me what you think about this team, because I finished the game a first time, and want to play it again with a different team. Thank you for your time. Also, someone else thinks the all-women team isn't that good. Please tell me if I should use the all-women or Angela, Lise, and Hawk. I'd appreciate it. A: Well, first, the Angela-Lise-Hawk team: Ok if you want to carry loads of healing items around, totally relying on them, but I would prefer the Angela-Carlie/Kevin-Hawk team. Other than the lack of healing, it's great. Now, the all-women team: Nice, with an offensive magic user, a healer, and a stat-raiser/good attacker. Angela should be a Rune Master, Carlie a Bishop/Necromancer, and Lise a Star Lancer. Overall a good team, but there are better. Best if you've been through the game at least once. Q: Hi, My name is Patrick, and I'm playing the game on my computer as a rom, except I'm having trouble with two simple things: - /\ \/ `-->How do I equip my 2 partners? - /\ \/ `-->How do I see their stats and experience or how much more they have to go before leveling up? Thanks alot. A: A very simple solution.....*pauses for suspense*.....press.....*pauses again*.....THE SELECT BUTTON! :) That will solve both of your problems. Q: Hey when do you change classes? I'm Hawkeye and I haven't seen anything like changing classes. And I heard the best thing to do is make him a Nightblade. Does he look different? I'm at the Corridor of Wind right now. A: Well, the first class change happens when you are level 18+ and find a Silver Mana Goddess (only in certain places like the end of the Corridor of Wind), and the second happens when you get to the Mana Holyland, find the golden goddess on the stand there, get the right class change item, then *POOF!*, you get your second class change. And yes, Nightblade is Hawk's best class, and yes, he looks different that way. Q: I am using Duran, Angela and Kevin and I have already changed their classes to Duran = Light, Angela = Light and Kevin = Dark. What class should I change for each of them in the second class change. You're site's the best and there is only one Seiken Densetsu 3 site which is yours, thanks. A: Hmmmmm.....Well, for Duran, go to Paladin, Angela, go to Grand Deviner, and Kevin, go to Dervish.
