This guide was written using Microsoft Notepad, under Windows XP Home Edition. Version Number Release Date Version Information Version 1.00 September 8, 2003 First version of the guide submitted to GameFAQs, essentially complete. Version 1.01 September 9, 2003 Made some minor corrections and revisions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GAME MECHANICS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Basically, you control a soldier going through the battlefield, using a gun, hand grenades, and a couple of tanks to annihilate the enemies and take over their fortress. This goes on forever, with the enemies becoming a little faster and smarter with each victory you gain. The 2 Player mode doesn't add much excitement either. It just let's two people take turns in playing through the stages, with each turn ending when the current player's unit dies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLAYER UNITS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Player Soldier - Wears a blue uniform and a red helmet. This is the basic player unit that is able to shoot a gun, throw hand grenades, and board tanks. The soldier dies with only one hit from any enemy weapon, but its hand grenades are the only weapons capable of destroying the tanks inside the enemy fortresses. Small Blue Tank - The weaker of the two tanks your soldier can board in. It fires light artillery shells and can be destroyed with one hit from any enemy weapon. Large Blue Tank - The stronger of the two tanks your soldier can board in. It fires heavy artillery shells and can be destroyed slowly with one hit from any enemy weapon, or instantly with two consecutive hits from any enemy weapon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ENEMY UNITS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enemy Soldiers - Wears green uniforms and blue helmets. These soldiers can be found at the first half of each stage, up to the point where you are able to board your own tank. Their only weapons are guns similar to your soldier's gun, and they can be killed with one hit from any of your weapons. Small Green Tanks - The weaker of the two types of mobile enemy tanks, found at the second half of each stage. It fires light artillery shells and can be destroyed with one hit from any tank weapon or the soldier's hand grenades. Large Green Tanks - The stronger of the two types of mobile enemy tanks, found at the second half of each stage. It fires medium artillery shells and can be destroyed slowly with one hit from any tank weapon, or instantly with two consecutive hits from any tank weapon or a hit from the soldier's hand grenades. Large Green Fortress Tank - The immobile tank guarding the enemy's fortress, found at the end of each stage. It fires medium artillery shells and can only be destroyed using the soldier's hand grenades. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTROLS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start Button - Confirms the 1 Player or 2 Player modes at the Title Screen. Select Button - Toggles between the 1 Player and the 2 Player modes at the Title Screen. A - Throw hand grenade/Jump in or out of a tank. B - Fire handgun/Fire tank artillery. Directional Buttons - Moves the player's unit in 8 directions/Moves the player unit's aim in 8 directions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- POINT SYSTEM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enemy Soldiers - 100 Points x Current Stage per hit by gun or artillery 200 Points x Current Stage per hit by hand grenade Mobile Enemy Tanks - 100 Points x Current Stage per hit by artillery 200 Points x Current Stage per hit by hand grenade Fortress Tank - 200 Points x Current Stage per hit by hand grenade Stage Bonus - 3000 Points x Current Stage ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GAME TIPS/BASIC STRATEGIES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The score counter starts from the value 0, and the highest score possible is 99,999 Points. But when you go over that value, the counter starts over from the value 00,000. You start out with 3 lives, and you get extra lives as you score increases. The only enemies you actually need to kill/destroy are the fortress tanks at the end of ach stage. You can dodge and ignore all of the other enemies if you want. Once you are on the second half of the stages, you can no longer turn back. The tank that you get to use at the second half of each stage is determined at random. The second halves of the stages are wider than the first. Use the terrain to your advantage. Use the various obstacles to block out enemy fire and throw grenades from safety. All of the enemies can kill you through physical contact, even if you are riding on a tank. The player soldier's hand grenades and the large blue tank's heavy artillery deals area-effect damage, allowing you to kill multiple enemies with one shot. The player soldier's hand grenades are the only weapons than can be shot over obstacles and enemies. If you are hit once when riding the large blue tank, you can actually repair the damage by exiting and re-entering the tank. The enemies can make double shots, two quick and successive shots from their weapons. This can kill you instantly even when you are riding the large blue tank. The enemies become faster and smarter with each stage that you complete, and they also use double shots more often. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPECIAL THANKS/CONTACT INFO ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.GameFAQs.com - The best gaming site on the web.
