Friday night! Listened to Synth Battle Royale #36[1] this evening.
smj had technical difficulties and couldn't MC. Chairman tob,
ldbeth, and peron participated. smj might have joined at the end.
       Thanks, guys!

I didn't plan on connecting to open mic, but since SBR ended early,
I had a chance to test my configuration.

There is much I do not know about synthesizers, but I have been
taking the time to learn and discover more about it. I've dabbled
with it in the past, but kept getting overwhelmed with everything,
usually just wanting to play music instead of learning about the
hardware, the configuration, the mechanics of it all.

I grew up with the piano and the guitar. They seem pretty simple
and you couldn't change the sound much until you add electricity.
Adding electricity allows you to have exponentially more options,
complexity, sounds, (and costs) than the non-electrified instruments.
This didn't really interest me too much before because I just wanted
       to play music.

At this point of where I am at with music, I think I want to expand
my knowledge further with synthesizers and see where it takes me.
In order for me to not become overwhelmed, I need to keep it simple.

The music hardware I used this evening was a Moog Werkstatt-01 with
CV Expander attached to the CV outputs on an Arturia _KeyStep 37, a
Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator PO-12 (rhythm) attached to
Sync-Out on the Keystep, and also an M-Audio Keystation 88es (nice
dumpster find!) attached to MIDI-In on the Keystep for key expansion.
Audio-Out from the Werkstatt and the PO-12 fed into a mixer which
plugged into a cheap USB audio adapter on a Raspberry Pi4 (pibook
pro setup.) The Pi ran broadcast using this tool (butt) to connect
to anonradio.net's open mic mount point. Yeah, simple. ;)

I connected a couple times since everybody had split. I don't think
anybody was really listening either so I just messed around with my
configuration and made some noise. I know I had fun. I saw that
open mic was archived so if you're bored, you can hear me screwing
around during the second segment of open mic. [2]
