Check out the self-hosted Web-based client TheLounge (https://thelounge.chat).
If you have a place to run it, like maybe a NAS that's always on, it's pretty
nice to use from any platform with a modern browser. It even does push
notifications to mobile browsers. Also it makes it nice and easy to switch from
computer to computer (or device or whatever).

The way I've got it set up is: SSL proxy -> TheLounge -> ZNC -> IRC.
